Family days out near to Ipswich. 14:28 - May 10 with 1437 viewsMattinLondon

Hello
Will be visiting Ipswich soon with the family - my parents are getting on a bit and will need a rest from their grandkids.

Just looking to see if anyone has any recommendations for days out (places where a couple to a few hours is enough) near to Ipswich. Been to Eastern Farm Park and Jimmys Farm plus the transport museum. Any other recommendations please will be kindly received.

Dud think about Felixstowe but just need a backup in case weather isn’t good etc.

Thanks.

Thorpeness boating lake, 25/30min drive

That aside, maybe just keep walking around the stadium, singing?

Since Saturday, I’ve been walking around in a Town top with a massive smile on my face. Been getting strange looks from other parents on the school run.

Thanks for the recommendation

Dependant on weather and your kids ages then I'd say Christchurch Park is a great way to spend a few hours, let kids play on park, have a walk. pop into the Greyhound for a pint and a bag of crisps for the little ones afterwards. A pretty good few hours spent!

To be fair, I expect you're rather an expert on 'family' days, being a budgie, aren't you?
