Picture the scene 22:10 - May 23 with 3862 views | textbackup | Man Utd decide that KM is a bit of a gamble and go elsewhere. Chelsea feel put out that he was holding out for Man Utd, and decide to go elsewhere. Brighton decided tried and tested Potter is their man. Then Ashton says to KM ‘that contract was a one time offer, you can continue on you current deal’ (Of course all this I hope happens IF KM has been ok with his agent whoring him out)

Picture the scene on 22:43 - May 23 by Guthrum | Phil said earlier that McKenna was in Ipswich today. |
Stuart Watson said on the latest KOA podcast that he's been at the club the last few days talking strategy and recruitment with Ashton.

I wonder if McKenna’s massive pursuit of Chelsea and Man U will put off Brighton a bit - they will know that if any top 6 jobs come up next summer then he’s going to be looking to engineer that move?

Picture the scene on 22:41 - May 23 by textbackup | Missed that, so Ashton has made a statement in the last couple of days about all this has he? Or, was that all hearsay? |
Came from Stuart Watson on the KOA podcast the other day I believe

Could work in our favour. City job will likely be available. Not impossible that one of the Villa, Newcastle or Spurs jobs may be as well

Picture the scene on 22:33 - May 23 by itfcsuth | I still think Man Utd or Chelsea seem a bit of a stretch for me for him at this stage of his career, but if they want to talk he has to listen, huge clubs (Man Utd his dream job). If we are in a shootout v Brighton, I would still feel optimistic he’d want to stay. Make no mistake though, I want him to stay, but only if he wants to stay. |
May be I’m seeking a positive view on all the recent noise but I also can’t see clubs like Man Utd. Or Chelsea taking a risk on a someone who hasn’t yet managed in the Premier League. and /or has a track record of managing world class players (egos & finances) They don’t want 1 or 2 seasons building towards CL qualification ( at the very least) . Also we’re seeing their fan base isn’t going to be happy with a KM appointment, which will be a consideration. I’m definitely not demeaning KM’s fabulous work here over the last 2 seasons - I absolutely love that - I just don’t think he’s going to be a realistic option (yet) for the top Premier League clubs. Brighton may be a stepping stone for him - which I’m slightly nervous about. But equally feel a reasonably successful season with Ipswich in the Premier League (anything above bottom 3) would be a similar stepping stone. 🤞
