Ten Haag staying, Brighton gone quiet.

He’s staying isn’t he?!

RIP Sir Bobby

Hot off the press. See Phil’s article treacle.

I guess it depends on how you view it - glass half full or empty.

Nothing's been confirmed on Ten Hag. Similarly, you could argue, why would Brighton be waiting for a manager who doesn't want to join them? If it's the case that it's United or Town, surely McKenna's representatives will have told Brighton that?

That being said, removing Chelsea from the conversation certainly helps.

I know the top clubs are all basket cases with sacking managers, but surely even United won’t get rid of TH after yesterdays amazing performance.

Brighton is a sideways and pointless step.

Brighton isn’t sideways much as we might like to think it is. 8 years running in the Premier League is not to be sniffed at.

I still think that job is the biggest threat to us losing KM. it’s an obvious stepping stone to where he wants to end up…Man United. He’s not ready for it yet imho. I’d be stunned if United turn to him this time around

Agree about Brighton. They are a reasonably well established prem side looking to push on and challenge for Europe on a regular basis whereas we haven’t kicked a ball in the prem for 22 years. So I consider Brighton quite the step up.

BUT…we could also be in that position soon if KM decides to stick around. With everything he’s done here and everything he’s involved in (training ground etc) II really hope he does.

Brighton offer very little opportunity for KM to enhance his reputation.

They have peaked, they finished 6th a year ago.

He would get more recognition for finishing 17th with us than 10th with Brighton.

It would be a fools move.

Brighton is a rubbish move for KM.

They've peaked, expectation will be higher, fans won't be happy with how long he's kept them hanging on.

Neutrals will frown on him jumping ship for Brighton too.

If he takes that job then he's a fool.

Exactly. Brighton fans were booing Potter by the end, so they're not going to be too happy if McKenna doesn't deliver at least 6th in his first season - which would be a very tall order even for him.

That job would be a massive reputational risk.

I would resent KM if he took that role. I'd have no issues if he managed to get the Utd role.

Brighton is absolutely a sideways step. As is Brentford and Bournemouth. This is the reason KM is not going and never has been going to join them.

You said he'd left last week and had scuppered the chance of signing Omari. You were part of the noise.

Yes and always said he would.

A lot of our fans are looking like they will need to offer Kieran an apology for the vitriol spouted at him…. Some of it actually quite unpleasant.

Yeah to be fair, a week ago I started to believe the noise.

But the last few days it became pretty clear he wasn’t going anywhere, the Brighton link was just odd.

I’m just so glad he’s staying!
