Brighton “want an answer this week” 01:24 - May 27 with 3438 viewsIllinoisblue

Hopefully a sign the saga is nearing its end.

The more United dilly and dally over things, the more chance the Brighton opportunity times itself out.

We just want this over one way or another pretty soon.

If any of this is true, it doesn’t look like little old Ipswich have any say in the matter with these clubs calling the tune.

But since we do not know the truth of any of it, who knows? As for the oily Italian journalist quoted here, where does he get his information from? Brighton and MU? Agents? Make it up? Guesswork?

Hopefully we'll know by the end of this week either way. Personally I just can't see him staying. Looks like United or Brighton. I think McKenna is probably waiting to see if he's got a realistic chance of getting united job and if not he'll be going to Brighton. Hopefully Ashton is also pushing to have it resolved this week and has been lining up potential replacements.

Maybe a bit petty, but anyone else also going to feel slightly better if Leicester also lose their manager?

But what information really? He's beating an empty drum, got his following so has to appear in the loop. If you look at it it's no news really, he's not saying anything wrong but anything clear really so whatever happens he was not wrong. Master click baiter Romano.

Semper fidelis!

I know it mentions KMck but in reality that’s aimed at any other potential hire they are speaking with in term of talks advancing to key stages. It may be that KMck is a first choice and I hope it’s very much the key person Brighton lined up, KMck may have had his eye on that role in the event that we were not promoted. Promotion being the game changer - fingers crossed it’s not a role for now.

I'm still of the view that the way this has gone has been undignified for KMck.

Interestingly it will have done us the world of good in terms of promoting the possible opening and will likely have flushed a number of people to express interest to MA should the Ipswich job becomes available.

Exactly. There seems to be no substance.

Never heard of the bloke before and I hope never to again. But he’s one of a herd of these creatures that feed like piranhas off something or nothing.

You wouldn't choose Maresca over McKenna, unless he's more amenable to not having much control. I'm fine with McKenna going to Man Utd., but I'd be gutted if he went to Brighton.

Never heard of him?
He's one of the most famous sports journalists, very well connected, has made himself famous for using the catchphrase "here we go" when breaking transfer news .

He reported on omari coming to us last year , which the club then used as a badge if honour in their own signing reveal video

Agreed. I know it's painful, but like you say the longer Man Utd take to decide the future of ETH, the more likely it is that Brighton move on.

And then if ETH is sacked, IMO it's unlikely that KMc will be offered the job when Tuchel and Poch are available.

I’m terrible with names (caused me endless problems in the world of work) and beyond content from TWTD and Newsnow don’t pay attention to journalists’ names at all, bar the greasy ones that used to chat on Sky on a Sunday morning.

Sea of ignorance, me.

Sorry wasn't meaning to put you down in anyway. Just making the point, he's not like many twitter click baiters this guy is in the know trustworthy and well connected.

Hence why he has 20.5 million followers, if he's posting this then we can be sure Mckenna is talking to Brighton and Brighton are getting impatient with his pace of the whole situation, while he waits to see how man utd develops

You’re right. Much as we all want to know where we stand, a quick conclusion probably means Kieran isn’t our manager any more.
Take your time, take your time Man United ….
