Bittersweet for me. On the one hand, I feel sorry for him in that he's put his heart and soul into this club, working tirelessly to keep in shape and be ready to help out despite being overlooked for years by a string of incompetent managers. And then he finally gets to play his role, and does so well. And then we let him go.
I wish we could have treated him a bit better than this, but I suppose there's no room for sentiment in the game. He is ultimately a backup squad player and we'll be looking to strengthen the squad and not just the first 11.
He seems ok about it though, at least publicly. |  |
