3 years since he arrived at PR

Do you think the Bristol City fans will join us in celebrating this mans achievements?

Some people just fit in at certain clubs don't they ? I think MA was the scapegoat for the Bristol City fans ... a bit like Lee O'Neill and Ian Milne were for us for a while a CEOs job is to protect the owners and deliver their line (whatever that is) .... i don't think Ashton was bad at his job there i just think he had different owners who didn't support him like they do here.

Really an incredible transformation of the club in such a short time.

He's been well backed by the owners and chairman O'Leary, plus being fortunate that a manager of the calibre of McKenna was out there and available for hire. Not to mention the other high-quality back-room and administrative staff. But someone has had to hold it all together in the middle and he is the man.

He's done it with (publicly-facing, at least*) good humour and a media-friendly willingness to talk to the fans.

* I don't know what he's like behind the office door, but I imagine he's quite a demanding boss to work for.

To be fair, most BC I speak to (and having lived in the Wild West I know a fair few), they main gripe doesn't lie with Ashton.

Whilst maybe not well liked, they recognise, for them, the issue is higher.

I think there's been plenty of evidence of that in pretty much most of my posting history.

With any luck that "DaveFEVS" character will pass by and share his wisdom. Was always so eloquent and balanced in his opinions.

THIS IS DEMOC-RRRRRRR-ACY MANIFEST!

Absolutely. He's very intense and there is a definite possibility that he has learned to be much more tactful, but if we are delighted to have him and they are happy to be shot of him, it works well all round.

Indeed. I only put in the caveat to head off anyone saying "he's not so jolly behind the scenes".

In interviews Ashton makes much of demanding the very top level from his staff. Which, as you say, has got results in many areas of the club.

Nothing - not been impressed with him at all. Brought in a rubbish manager, not invested in the ground, shocking signings....send him back

Not part of the Cobbold stand rebuild, to connect with the Aquatics Centre? Where's the joined up thinking?

I can't help feeling that they're missing a trick by not building Snoasis on the training pitch.

No, there will be a series of water slides connecting the upper Cobbold to the Aquatic Centre.
