He's been a brilliant goalscorer, but he's neither the best Ronaldo there's been nor the best of his own generation. Since he decided to become an elite goalhanger his overall game has gone downhill and he's been a hinderance to the teams he's playing in. | |

Definitely not the greatest player ever, he's not the best of his generation even, or arguably the best player called Ronaldo. He's certainly a great player but I don't think a plausible case can be made for him being the best of all time. |  |

I totally agree with this. He might be unlikeable and act like a petulant child, but you cannot deny the quality and longevity of his career. 130 goals in 211 appearances for Portugal, 311 goals in 292 appearances for Real Madrid.
Comparisons to the other Ronaldo are valid, and maybe at their absolute peaks Il Fenomeno might edge it, but his peak was about two seasons, not 10. What do you judge the greatest player ever on? Surely longevity has to come into it, in which case there is only really Messi ahead of him in the modern era. |  |
