George Edmundson 13:55 - Jul 3 with 2189 views | _clive_baker_ | A curious one isn't he, like whenever I watch him play he just looks every bit a really good central defender, he just hasn't nailed his place down. Favoured over Burgess on a few occasions last season for a little extra pace and very rarely let us down. Decent on the ball, physically strong, good in the air, great age, a leader on the pitch, good experience now from Rangers, Derby and Town. There's not much about his game not to like is there. Can't help but feel he'll be one that becomes surplus though when you consider we're strengthening in that area, and with Woolf, Tuanzebe and Burgess here too. I would be all over that deal if I were a Championship club and happily part with 7 figures for him.

George Edmundson on 14:00 - Jul 3 with 2078 views | Parky | One of his family members told me that Hull asked about Edmundson last year, particularly after he came into the side against them and put in a man of the match performance. I wonder if he could be included with a deal for Greaves / Philogene.

I wouldn't be surprised if Derby were interested in taking him. Edmundson and Cashin would be a nice partnership.

Absolutely, you would be looking for £2m. He's still a decent age and has looked entirely comfortable at Champ level. Infact if he's willing to stay and not looking for a move for more regular football i'd be more than happy to see him as part of our Prem squad.
George Edmundson on 14:04 - Jul 3 with 1998 views | Stewart27 | I love him. His best attribute is being able to come in from the cold and put in a 8/10 performance every time. Not many players could do this and shows what a quality professional he is.
George Edmundson on 14:05 - Jul 3 with 1977 views | Steve_M | What was really impressive about GE last season was how well he played given how rarely he played. Whereas in 2022-23 he never really looked like the player he had been before his ankle (?) injury at the end of the previous season. Those few matches ahead of Burgess, reflect MCK#s views on attributes I think and one of the things I really like is how well the players all seem to have brought into that idea and were totally unbothered by rotating central defenders.

George Edmundson on 14:05 - Jul 3 with 1963 views | hype313 | He's an extremely solid Championship defender, great attitude, good pro around the club, but looks to me like he's going to be a makeweight for other deals.

The players seem to really like him too, and he handles the media bits well. Really does come across very well and with a maturity. Same on the pitch really. I really rate him, I think he has all the attributes of just being a really good Championship centre back for the next however many years. I would put him in a similar bracket to Chambers at the same age. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Would make a lot of sense, a lot closer to Scotland up there too.

George Edmundson on 15:03 - Jul 3 with 1676 views | Scuzzer | He is a right footed defender and plays mostly on the left. This severely limits his ability on that side. Needs to be back up for the right. Johnson can cover the left.

George Edmundson on 15:51 - Jul 3 with 1490 views | dirtyboy | I'd be inclined to hang on to him. If we get relegated, we've got a good player for the Champ still who knows the gig. Whether that's something he's willing to do is another matter.
George Edmundson on 15:56 - Jul 3 with 1437 views | Nutkins_Return | Very good player. Ankles seem to have let him down. If I'm Hull I'd be all over Edmundson plus cash. Genuinely good deal for everyone.id be sad to see him go and hope he has one season with us in the prem.

George Edmundson on 15:58 - Jul 3 with 1416 views | Kieran_Knows | A bit like Harness (can’t remember if he had an ‘option’ in his deal) and Walton, you’re looking at 3 players which we paid well for - albeit in League 1 - who could all potentially walk away for free next summer. So it’s either offer them new deals, or try sell them to get as much back as possible, IMO.
