Away priority points have been reset to new total. (n/t) on 13:14 - Jul 11 by The_Flashing_Smile

Two things, firstly it's not about not wanting to go... some people can't AFFORD to go to loads of games. I thought I made this clear. Secondly, i didn't say anything about smaller teams, I was more thinking of distance. It takes all day to get to many northern games. I live in Crystal Palace, it would take me 20 mins to walk there.

I'm just saying it's not as cut and dried as you make it out to be.
If people can afford to get to all those games then they deserve the points, I'm not saying that. I'm saying it's a bit harsh on people who can only get to one or two (due to time or money or both) that they then can't get to anything else (i.e. local).

I've agreed with the 10% ballot point?

The affordability side, I get it I've been in that position where I've had to pick and choose games. But that isn't anyone elses fault. I always accepted that for certain games I'd have little to no chance. Which I think is fair to reward those that do spend a lot of time travelling to the less popular games.

As for the 'time'. People always seem to be conveniently free for the big games, never the smaller ones.

Not always that cut and dry though.

I went to Wycombe under Cook. My first away game for a couple of years. It was easy enough to get away tickets for at that point. Forgot how much I enjoyed it and went to several more than season.

By then McKenna had taken over. Went to Forest Green. Was awesome. Then Burton. Then Accrington. At that point we were top and flying and ended up going to nearly every away game.

Then I did the same last season. So despite going to pretty much every away game these last two seasons, I didn't plan on going to that many last year. I did so because we were right up there.

I had been planning just to do new grounds. But thought sod it, let's go for it and try and do as many as I can. Had we been 12th then I can state 100% that wouldn't have happened.

Likewise in League One, I may have gone to all bar one away game in the promotion season but two years earlier I didn't go to many. So whilst I spent a fortune travelling up and down the country and getting in at 3am or 4am some mornings, there is no way in this world I was ever doing that under Lambert or Cook.

People will always be able to justify the time or expense a little bit more if it's a big team, a big game, we are right up there or playing well and that's perfectly fine.

Heard a rumour that away PPs are going to be made redundant.

Back to a ballot for everyone...apart from Fabio and his 1900 pals, they are exempt and get tickets to whatever he wants.

That's true, but I guess the majority of people who want away tickets for most of the games next season could've done the same as you, but chose not to. My friend worked abroad during our League 1 promotion season. Bought a membership last season starting on 5 points. He managed 19 away games

There'll be more demand this season, though. If he'd worked abroad last season and was starting from scratch this season it's very possible he wouldn't be able to get to any away games at all, because he wouldn't be able to get on the bottom rung of the ladder anymore.

Unless they tweak the system / introduce ballots etc., which seems sensible.

I go to games with my daughter - she lives with me half the time. That means that pretty much 50% of all games are ruled out. Like you I also live in the Midlands, 3 hours away from PR. We went to pretty much every home and away game we could last year - a total of 15 games, 8 home, 7 away. Would have been 16 if not for Rotherham being cancelled the first time - couldn't make the rescheduled game.

Some games we weren't high enough priority for. Because of school, a lot of evening games were ruled out. Sometimes we had other family commitments. But we went to every game we realistically could.

I'm currently on 11 points. Hoping that's enough to get to some games this year. As always we'll go to as many as we can. It's not about wanting to only go to the big games - it's just what's realistic practically.

Everyone's circumstances are different. Work, school, family, relationships, finances, where they live.

Sometimes I hear this 'all or nothing' argument put forward here that you should attend every single game, and if you don't then tough, you shouldn't be entitled to go to any. That's not realistic for most people, and I think it's right that the club tries to tread the balance of it not being a closed shop and rewarding those who do go to more games.

I don’t think they’ll restrict any ballot to season ticket holders who don’t have enough points.

It should be open to all Super Blue members.

There are plenty of us over the years who, for geographical and logistical reasons, couldn’t become season ticket holders and now can’t even if they wanted to.

But I still went to the best part of 20 odd games each season with my sons, usually split between home and aways.

Unfortunately away games became more difficult last season but I still kept up my overall attendance with my youngest son.

If they limited the ballot to season ticket holders, it would be massively unfair on members like myself and would provide little incentive for anyone to become a new member. And I’m pretty sure they won’t limit that.

Agreed anyone getting away tickets should be a membership holder. Why ballot?

Now being the 1st yr in the premiership- this is what all the travelling around the country has been all about and warrant 1st dabs on getting the opportunity to go to the famous grounds- those on 20+ points prior to the extra 5 points should get tickets as all grounds are 3,000 apart from2!

Getting Coventry tickets 3k went down to 15 before it sold out!

Stupid question maybe but how do you find out how many points you have now?
