Who buys tickets for day 5 of a test match involving England? England either smash their way to a victory within a few days or fall apart, there's barely ever any in between!

Feel for Jimmy Anderson. Not going to be much of a final test for him.

On the basis that it's Jimmy's final test, we'd have been happy even just to see one ball on Sunday.

It's no big deal either way - money back if there's no play.

It was worth the chance I guess but WI against England was surely always going to be 3-4 days. I suspect the other tests in the series will go a similar way. I doubt WI will be this bad again but even so I'm not expecting a tight 5 day game in the series.

Oh I don't know. West Indies can actually do wheelies with how bad they can be.

If they finish by lunchtime tomorrow, they should have an immediate double-or-quits rematch over the remaining 2.5 games.

Feel for Jimmy Anderson. Not going to be much of a final test for him.

Broad went out on not quite a fairy tale but not far off it but should we be surprised with the moments he had in his career.

Would have been nice for Anderson to have had a closer game but I suspect he will be relived it’s all over in some ways.

Would have been nice if they could have got 1 or 2 in front so Jimmy could open the batting and try to get the winning run(s)... bit contrived but he deserves something special to happen. Hopefully he mops upthe tail and gets a 6 for.

I don't know if it is really possible for him to have a fairy tale ending when he clearly isn't ready to retire. I feel like they should have given him the full summer, or at least the series against the West Indies, they are lower profile opposition and I think there is actually now plenty of opportunity to rotate new bowlers into the team when you look at the other bowlers in there alongside him. Then with a winter of Pakistan and New Zealand perhaps that would have been the time for him to call it a day.

He is still offering plenty, particularly in English conditions, and I don't know, some things are bigger than just winning, he's the greatest bowler we will ever have, no fast bowler will ever get close to the wickets he has, I just think if ever there is a player who should have been allowed to decide for himself when it was time to stop then it's him.

Totally agree with that.

Final test of the summer at the Oval would've been a much better send off, and somewhat more traditional anyway. It has the feel of a compromise where Anderson wanted to go on but Stokes/McCullum wanted to move on so he got the Lords' test as his final bow.

Rotate the likes of Atkinson, Cook, Pennington etc. I'm sure they would all benefit from some on field time with the master.

Doubt he'd go to Pakistan and we'd be more likely to go in with 3 or even 2 seamers in any case.
