its like Homer Simpson designed it, I dont get why Ford who do normally get their heritage would design something like that and kill a brand name.
no one who gets misty eyed about the name Capri is going to want to buy it, so the only people buying it will be people who dont care its called a Capri, so you could have called it something completely different. |  | | |

That looks like an early Triumph Herald. My first proper gf had one of those - a later 13/60 one in dark blue. It wheezed rattled and whined (bit like I do now!), but it was easy to work on. It was built on a chassis and the bonnet opened at the front - good for removing your head in a bad accident.
They made a smart, faster Vitesse version, which I rather fancied. I hope it handled better than the 13/60 which rolled like a boat. |
I think its the model I had or very similar
Was an ok car, body work needed attention and bits were prone to falling off.
Chassis was basically the same as the spitfire, which I still think is a stunning little car

My Dad had a MK 1 which was white with a black vinyl roof and a sunroof which you had to wind open. Well, when I passed my test I got to drive it around when he wasn't which was the coolest I've ever been before or after. He chopped it in for a Princess - think they were by Morris - which as an absolute Hippo to drive. No idea what was going through his head. |

Had a 2.8 or 3.0 Capri bought off a mates dad for £120 in the mid 90,s. It had seen better days and brakes were so poor you could barely stop the thing.
Felt quite manly driving it though..

Totally agree. I had a brown Mk2 with a black vinyl roof. I just wanted a Capri, I didn't care what colour it was. Absolutely loved it.
There's no way I'd sully that memory with this identikit four door effort. |  |
