My family had 4 individual submissions for the ballot. No emails from club so we assume not successful for all 4. Are the odds that low for the ballot? And we went to all home games last season.

Yes. Thousands of members, only hundreds of tickets. You went to all home games? Season ticket holders weren’t in the ballot.

Same here. Me and my lad did 23 games last season (21 league games) and nothing from the club so assume we were unsuccessful. Now a lottery as to whether I'll be placed high enough in the queue on Monday as to whether we'll get them.

Why do people keep stating how many games they went to? The ballot isn’t done on that, it’s random.

I think some of us were secretly hoping that if the club could see we bought a ticket to see us lose 0-1 at home to Fleetwood in March 2020, they might take pity on us and let us go to the Liverpool game 😂. [Post edited 25 Jul 2024 15:21]

A fair bit more expensive sure but with STs unavailable, some will have done this.

Is it random? what if we have purchased a ticket for the pre-season friendly? and what if someone has already got a ticket to the Liverpool game and then gets another one for the next home game, is it really that random? Missed out on one for my daughter and she did > 15 home + away games last season, not a full season by any stretch, but will be very annoying if she misses out on a ticket for the Liverpool game.

That's why it pays to have a season ticket through the bad times so you can guarantee a seat during the good ones.

I understand how a ballot works. If I am truthful, I just feel annoyed that my lad (more than me) may miss out on a ticket and felt that the club should have done better with how they rewarded members last season. There's a point system for away games, but nothing for home. Anyway, I understand why they've done it this way (£££) but doesn't mean I can't feel a little bit sorry for myself :-)

Some of us can't though. I had a season ticket from 1991 to 2004 but my job meant that I'd miss too many games to justify it, so I've just bought tickets to matches I can attend since then (around 15 - 17 home games a season).

I agree I don't think they got it quite right for the home games. I support the general ethos of the scheme though as I want the club to do well and the more support we can nurture and grow, the stronger the club will be moving forward. I would love to see us fill a 40,000 stadium on a regular basis. But for Liverpool, first game, one of the biggest, I think more should have been allocated to the ballot phase.

I get that, but that's just the way the cookie crumbles for a lot of people

ballot news? on 15:54 - Jul 25 with 4124 views | mattrolow | Lucky enough to have been successful. Personally a huge fan of the ballot, means I have the chance to take my son who hasn't been to every game for the past 10 years on account of him being six. I think he should have as much chance as anyone else.

100% Like I said, I get it, particularly from a revenue point of view and to capture the future ITFC fans. I just don't think that they've quite got that balance right. Am old enough to have seen us play in the PL and Europe but sadly for my lad, the last 2 seasons aside, he's only seen the bad times. Anyway, i'll do my best to secure a couple on Monday :)

I’d say that amount of games justify a season ticket! Could’ve sold it on to mates for £10 a time to get something back.
