Now Huw Edwards has pleaded guilty 16:07 - Aug 1 with 5597 views | bluelagos | Wondering what the beeb should do with the historic clips of him that are online? Given he fronted the BBC coverage for both QE2 death and King Charles's coronation, they can hardly erase/hide it all as they did with previous presenters like Saville or Hall. Thoughts? God, you're desperate for an argument, aren't you! Pretty sure he openly admitted to having sleepovers with young boys

It's quite weird for sure. But one of those kids was Macauley Culkin. Culkin defended him at his trial. As someone who will always call out wrongdoing where he sees it, I'm disappointed that you're willing to drop your standards of decency where labelling someone a child abuser without proof is concerned. I haven't labelled anyone anything but there is no way in the world I'd let my son sleep round at a grown man's house who has adult erotic material in the room. If you're cool with that then you do you Anyway, arguing with someone defending MJ was not how I imagined my day going , but to be fair in my one day of interacting with you, I wouldn't expect anything else

Not at all, I'm just pointing out your hypocrisy. You've spent most of the day preaching to people on here on what's acceptable language to use etc. Now here you are labelling an innocent man a child abuser.

Show me where I labelled someone a child abuser I clearly said there were facts that a lot of people are uncomfortable with You're obviously fine with them, so let's call it a difference of opinion and move on | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Nothing wrong with that sort of behaviour amongst consenting adults by the way, whoever their parents are. It seems that adult pics where his appetites lay, as he specifically requested no illegal material. But he’d blown it by then by dealing with a convicted paedo. As these things go, he might be at the tamer end of the scale, but at the least he’s been incredibly stupid. And I also don’t know whether to believe his story. If he genuinely only had an appetite for legal porn, why get involved with this guy in the first place? I doubt you can stumble across these people. He must have gone searching for dodgy content on the dark web.

“3. Jackson paid $25 million to settle the Chandlers’ lawsuit, with $18 million going to Jordie, $2.5 million to each of the parents, and the rest to lawyers. Jackson said he paid that sum to avoid something “long and drawn out.” Francia also received $2.4 million from Jackson”. https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2019/03/10-undeniable-facts-about-the-micha Looks like he’s just as innocent as Prince Andrew!!!!!! Now Huw Edwards has pleased guilty on 19:38 - Aug 1 by NedPlimpton | Can't remember the last time radio played a Gary glitter song. Although The Joker film used a glitterband song to be deliberately provocative Jackson gets a free pass for some reason |
Rock and Roll Part 2, although largely instrumental, was credited to Gary Glitter and not The Glitter Band. The Glitter Band didn't start releasing their own records until a year later.

I think it was more a case of certain posters being over keen to give the Sun newspaper a good kicking rather than believing the distressed mother of child under the age on consent who had been receiving money for supplying Edwards with indecent images.

There's something wrong with the law when an older person can have sex with a 16/17 year old but them sending an explicit phot of themselves is a criminal offence as they are old enough to have sex but are still a child re photos. But obviously the Edwards case has moved on since then to further details which are abhorrent

It is a weird thing about UK consent law isn't it? Pictures of that 17 yr old on your phone? Child porn. Chatting to them online about things you shouldn't? Grooming. Actual physical relationship? No problem, as you were sir! (provided not in a position of authority).

Rock & Roll part 2 was a staple in sports stadia & people commented that Gadd (aka Glitter) shouldn't be receiving royalties & so the song shouldn't be played. While he was the co-songwriter, the publishing rights were sold a long time ago so he doesn't benefit directly from the song being played. However, I bet it still makes plenty of people feel uncomfortable.
