Jon Walters put his hand on my sons head and said “excuse me” to him in the pool at Center Parcs.

Oh dear. on 14:40 - Aug 9 by MK1 | Yeah, to be fair to the lad, the football has to be better than under Southgate. Hopefully similar results, but with better outcomes. |
What. | |

Oh dear. on 17:27 - Aug 9 by Vic | Sorry to be a pedant, but what is the difference between a result and an outcome? |
Well a result is a thing that is caused or produced by something else; a consequence. Whereas, of course, an outcome is the way a thing turns out; a consequence.

I was in the same public loo on Felixstowe front as Roger Osborne in 1979. No. we didn't shake hands.

Southgate had a very good win ratio for England, but won nothing. So, just for clarity, I said similar results with a better outcome. The difference in similarity would be that we would win a final, which in turn, would give a better outcome. Pretty self explanatory really.

Oh dear. on 17:31 - Aug 9 by mutters | Good luck to him. Quite nice to see somebody promoted who has been involved in the setup rather than just go for a big name, which does t guarantee anything. |
Like the last England manager?

Oh dear. on 20:13 - Aug 9 with 430 views | WicklowBlue | I would have loved him as the ROI manager, the FAI did contact him but got sent packing. Of course the English manager job is on a different level. But Carsley has been doing great things at underage level and personally it's always great to see promotion within an organisation. Let's not forget some of the comments when McK was appointed. I hope he is a great success and not ravaged but certain media outlets.... Huge opportunity for him. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I too would have liked Carsley for the RoI job but he clearly didnt fancy it and Heimir Hallgrímsson is a better fit for the current squad.
