What’s been your Olympics highlight? on 17:32 - Aug 11 with 561 views | Mercian | Imagine a classmate asking one of their kids at school. "What's your mum ever done" "She has won 5 Olympic Gold Medals and is a Dame of the British Empire." "Impressive, I bet you dad's a bit of a loser though." "Well he won7 Olympic Gold Medals and is a Knight Bachelor. They insist I call them dame mum and sir dad."

What’s been your Olympics highlight? on 14:19 - Aug 11 by LegendofthePhoenix | no we didn't - neither Sydney nor Femke entered the 400 flat, they both entered the hurdles. I just would have loved to have seen that race. Apparently, Sydney's split time last night for the 2nd leg was 47.7. I'd just love to see her beat the 47.6 anabolic steroid enhanced mark of GDR's Marita Koch which stands at 47.6. [Post edited 11 Aug 2024 14:20]

From the link. "It’s like something out of a musical: the lone millionaire on a doomed mission to rescue a bill that would have cut the incomes of 3m people by an average of £1,300 … Oh, he wasn’t alone. Lots of famous millionaires voted with the government, including Tim Bell, Sebastian Coe, Maurice Saatchi, Julian Fellowes, Anthony Bamford …"
What’s been your Olympics highlight? on 22:03 - Aug 11 with 416 views | yorkshireblue | From a Team GB perspective Tom Pidcock and Alex Yee. From an international perspective - Femke Bol, Simone Biles and Marchand. From a sports fan perspective - kayak cross, also the mixed relays - in particular the swimming where there was no fixed order between males and females. From a personal perspective, my son getting really excited and wanting to try lots of sports. (Except Equestrian…. Daddy can’t afford a horse) | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Bugs lifted the quote out of the article Ryorry. (Cheers Bugs) It's just one of those princicpled things I haven't forgotten. As I said, I don't doubt he's done some good stuff around sport, but underneath it all he's still a tory who chose to vote against benefits for working class people like you and me. It's a me problem, but I chose to remember that stuff, hence my support for the previous "oily" post.
