Am I the only one not really wanting the season to start..? 17:47 - Aug 11 with 3504 views | Linners | It feels like I'm living in a perfect football bubble at the moment - a bubble in which we're brilliant and everything is amazing and very, very special. I know it's horribly pessimistic and cowardly of me, but that's very likely to all end now and I don't want it to...not yet...
Am I the only one not really wanting the season to start..? on 20:04 - Aug 11 with 596 views | Len_Brennan | I think a lot of fans are focusing on the first 2 games being difficult, but we'll start winning after that; but Fulham are a really good side, with a very good manager & a lot of PL experience ovee recent years. Tbey have Muniz, Willian & Jiminez up front & have added Smith-Rowe & Sessegnon in the last week. They have the likes of Iwobe, Traore & Periera too. Now ok, some of those guys are knocking on at this stage & may never have been world class, but they are proven PL players. Make no mistake, game 3 is a really challenge ahead for us.

It's the southampton game that's key. We can't lose those games if we are to stay up. Have signings in this week get them training and look at Southampton game as the beginning of the season These opening games are just incredibly hard friendlies.

Am I the only one not really wanting the season to start..? on 20:10 - Aug 11 with 571 views | Dubtractor | I think it is fair to say that this will be a very different season to the last 2. Honestly not really sure what my expectations are for us - we smashed it last season when no one expected us to, but the step up this time is huge. An awful lot depends on our remaining transfer business doesn't it? If we can land 2 good cm options, plus another striker and another left winger, then I think we're looking ok.

Am I the only one not really wanting the season to start..? on 20:10 - Aug 11 with 573 views | Melford | I'm still in Cricket mode and not really ready for football. It doesn't help when it's Liverpool then City, I would rather tiptoe back in with a Wolves then Fulham or something. But then look at our last 5 and you would fancy a few points there if we need them so it's swings and roundabouts. I can't wait for my shift on Saturday getting stick from Liverpool 'fans' who all put together have been to Anfield less times than I have and I've been twice.

Am I the only one not really wanting the season to start..? on 20:31 - Aug 11 with 539 views | lowhouseblue | my natural footballing optimism has taken a bit of a knock with the transfer business seeming to cool - but after the opening day win it will doubtless return.
| And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show |

Am I the only one not really wanting the season to start..? on 21:24 - Aug 11 with 493 views | SitfcB | A bit too much negativity creeping onto this board. The first two games are possibly the biggest tests we could’ve got, they won’t define our season yet we’ll give it a bloody good go. These players have stepped up before and they can step up again, no reason why we can’t give Liverpool a game at least, with it being at home we have a chance. With City whatever will be will be, fully expect us to go and get beat 4/5-0 but this is football we’re talking about, anything can happen. Saying all that, we just have to take each game as it comes, more than anytime before, if we go down we go down, just enjoy it - we shouldn’t really be here but we’ve earned the right, I don’t think we’ll go down without a fight - the points deductions are going to be handy. We probably need 10 wins and 5/6 draws to stay up don’t we? Easily doable imo. COYB

Am I the only one not really wanting the season to start..? on 00:21 - Aug 12 with 389 views | BlueBadger | Given the step up in standards and reduced number of games, I think it's only right we temper our expectations. Therefore - 90 POINTS 90 GOALS
