Interesting to learn he was badgering Matt Holland for a ticket for Liverpool, and eventually succeeded.

Fair to say he fell out of love with the club after Evans and his exit? Hopefully he's got it back now anyway.

I gather that McKenna had been on Ashton's radar before Ashton had even arrived at PR.

Succession planning is one thing. Perfectly normal, sensible thing to do in any walk of life. You’d be nuts not to.

Interviewing, shaking hands, agreeing a contract behind an incumbents back is another matter - in my view. Even if it’s normal for football.

This seems a bit odd! Cliftonville were playing Glenavon on Saturday so wax he in two places at the same time?

Edit: Cliftonville played Sunday so could have been possible 😀

I thought Id read, probably on here, theyd met up in secret somewhere before Cook was actually removed from the job.

heck watch the Sir Bobby documentary, Sir John Hall is quite open they made an illegal approach for Sir Bobby whilst he was still manager at Barcelona, and Kevin Keegan was still Newcastle manager. it fell through in the end only because Sir Bobby wanted to honour his Barcelona contract, even if they didnt so much

I can't see much point of having a hall of fame if it brings no meaningful perks.
