Driving to Brighton 09:03 - Aug 28 with 2158 viewspetieboy2011

Apologies if this has already been posted, but those driving to the Brighton game on Sept 14th, be aware that all the parking around the ground including the Park & Rides has sold out due to an event relating to the University. There is also no street parking near the ground either.

The upside is that non P&R buses and trains are free (apparently) if you have a matchday ticket - although presumably these will be absolutely heaving with all those that would usually park at the ground & P&R having to use these as well.

Hopefully everyone gets there ok!

I bet they wouldn't do this if Man City or Liverpool were visiting!

I was planning to go by train anyway but that option will now be rather busier.

Always good to reference these arrangements if anyone mentions building a new ground at Copdock.

Don't worry if you don't know but how far out would you class as "near the ground" for street parking?

Away games I always give myself a 15/20 minute walk to take in the sights and also a bit of breathing space for traffic getting out (ie avoid the big queues), would you say even that is going to be an issue?

Again, don't worry if I am assuming too much BHA knowledge on your part!

Last time I went to Brighton watching Town there was no parking at the ground and very little in Brighton generally. It seems to be train or park and ride only.

Brighton's ground is in countryside between Brighton & Lewes. No parking near the ground means exactly that.

Plan to use the P&R, or stations between Haywards Heath (start of matchday free travel). Brighton - Falmer (stadium stop) - Lewes has fairly frequent trains but they get very, very busy. Post-match queues reduce after about an hour.

Don't bars at the ground stay open to try and avoid everyone leaving at once?

Park at the station in Lewes and it's a 15 min train ride.

On this subject, anyone got their Brighton tickets yet?
And when will Southampton (a) go on sale?

Park at the station in Lewes and it's a 15 min train ride.

Also when I went there the last few times, the match ticket included travel on the train from Lewes to Falmer and back.
