I wonder whether Cajuste may get the nod ahead of Phillips - he just looked a little sharper on Weds night between the two of them. Will allow Morsy to sit a little deeper and take the ball off the back 4 to build.

Probably still go with Luongo for this one, and would really prefer Hutch to be the middle 10 but appreciate that personnel maybe dictate as you've suggested. Ideally I want Hutch to be frightening centrebacks rather than fullbacks.

Clarke tends to cut in a lot on the left from what I've seen - not a suggestion as such, but I wonder whether he could play on the right if Ogbene isn't quite ready? With Davis overlapping he wouldn't tend to be playing as wide for us as he did for Sunlun anyway. Idle speculation, really.

Muric
Tuanzebe - Woolfenden - Greaves - Davis
Morsy - Cajuste
Hutchinson - Szmodics - Clarke
Delap

With O'Shea playing 90 minutes on Wednesday, and not had any match time with Greaves, I think Woolfenden will start. More likely O'Shea will then come in against Brighton.

Luongo’s been brilliant but needs to be phased out. He shouldn’t be a starter

Luongo was really good when he came on Wednesday I thought. In general, I think he will end up as a sub, but he knows the system and we need to keep enough players in the mix that do until the new players get up to speed. (else we will end up playing like we did Wednesday night).

Prediction 2-2

Interesting to see McKenna and Morsy both doing some expectations-management with their comments. Meltdowns will likely start if it doesn't go well.

I think all depends on defence being a lot tighter and more competent than the last two games, because we may not score many. A tight 1-0, 2-1 maybe. But could just as easily be the other way round.

If O'Shea and Phillips are up to speed both in terms of fitness and knowing "the system", then yes. I think Axel is currently the safest bet at RB.

That is certainly the front 4 that I would like to see start.

I think Woolf and Luongo will keep their places tomorrow, but the new players will take over in 2 weeks:

Poor old Conor Chaplin - what's he done to receive a place on the bench?

I'd play him instead of Sammie

I cannot see how having signed Phillips and Cajuste that we’d start Mass. massively important to get at least a point tomorrow. Go big, go strong.

Maybe that is why Cajuste was withdrawn soon after Half time Wednesday as KM wanted him fresh for tomorrow.

I think they both need a little more work before either start. Morsy and Luongo are like clockwork together - Luongo flat out for 55 mins to settle the game pattern, then Cajuste on for me.
