I'm not sure why the default response to this Is football manager. It's not football manager correct. It is however a premiership football club who've left with 1 fit striker. 1 returning and one from league 2 who's also recovering. It doesn't have to become football manager to get a third striker who is better than Al hamadi. Again this Is not a slight on Al hamadi just where he sits right now.
If a recruitment can't get a player worldwide who's better than Al hamadi then it's had a poor result there's no getting away from that. It doesn't mean it's football manager. |

I'm far from convinced that McKenna would have signed off on 'anyone' who was just better than Al-Hamadi. He seems to have really strict parameters for what he wants and if he can't get that seems to be happier to work with what he has rather than overpay for someone who won't fit what he wants.
Without being privvy to the decision making over the last few weeks it's impossible to make any kind of informed decision about what targets we might have got over the line and who/if anyone turned them down. | |

Yet when Hirst got injured, we went on a run of only 1 goal in 4 games, including consecutive 0-0 draws against QPR and Stoke. We were fortunate the January window opened straight after.
When McKenna uses 2 strikers through practically every game, being 1 injury away from Al Hamadi playing significant minutes in the Premier League is a risk the Club were trying hard to avoid. | |

Delap and Hirst need the opportunity to see if they can deliver at this level. Give them the chance. Personally, I think it is too early for Al Hamadi I’m not convinced he is ready for this step up, for all his robustness I’m not sure about his ability just yet. | |

Agree with this . The fact that we have 12 new players to mold into the squad and spent over 100 mil. I don't understand some people's response to not signing a second striker. I am absolutely blown away by the potential and quality of our squad. Is it good enough? I don't know, but ITFC have done so much more than I expected. I would say MA and KM have done their best, and what more do you want? | | | |

That's the ridiculous argument many of the downvoters fail to grasp.
McKenna and Ashton have spent all day trying desperately to get a striker in, so fairly obvious they also think we needed to upgrade. Ultimately it's something we failed to do. |

I find it amazing how suddenly Ashton and co have "let us down" Get a grip, they have done a phenomenal job this Summer. I bet the same people moaning about the lack of another striker would be moaning if we spunked 30 Million on Broja only to find out his a bang average crock, I am glad we didn't waste that money on him.
As for Nelson, who can help it if a guy changes his mind at the final moment ? Cant be Ashton or McKenna's fault, it was his decision and in any case he is not a striker.
