Not sure why but intrigue got me to watch it.
Thoughts?
I thought some of it was blatantly obvious for the sympathy vote (the talk about his dad, the ‘everything was in place’ suicide suggestion, etc.
But then there was the occasional glimmer of human empathy towards him. It surprised me as I really think he probably (on the basis of probability in my opinion) groomed that kid having met him so young.
And yet here he is talking about the hate he received and seeing himself being hated and spoke about by everyone on twitter, news, chat shows etc and I couldn’t help but think that must be the loneliest awful feeling imaginable. Knowing the whole world despises you.
He shouldn’t be given a tv career or anything going forward celebrity wise but I hope he’s left alone to live his life though without the press hounding him. He’s been cancelled, rightly so. But it’s time to move on. This show should be the end of it.

I've watched the first episode. I do think it will have the desired effect for him. It's basically a tick box of what he needs to undo the damage. It sounds like he's going to heavily hint that he knows a lot about other TV people as well.
The main thing I took from it was how much his family seem to be on his side. |

Is there any evidence he is? Apart from the public's willingness to believe anything they want to believe? I have no idea.
I assumed he meant affairs, sleeping with colleagues etc rather than anything illegal. |  |

Definitely a rehabilitation exercise for him to curry some favour with the public. I guess "Huw" will be next, camping it up in the Welsh mountains in a bid to make us see he's a nice guy really despite being a convicted nonce. | |

Gordon carried that man for years and his reward was to be binned off as soon as Schofield got into something else. No recognition, no thank you, no nothing. Poor Gordon.
As for Schofield, at 62 he should enjoy his retirement rather than trying to prolong up a washed up career. He was no doubt handsomely paid to make that programme and will have had the opportunity to squirrel away plenty of dough over his career. His net worth is estimated at £9m.

Depends on your definition of nonce I guess. Some might argue grooming a young and impressionable child 35 years his junior over a number of years, abusing his position of authority, subsequently having an affair with him weeks after his 16th birthday behind his own wife & children’s back, before slapping a gagging order on him and paying him off with a 6 figure sum to protect his own self interests as a bit noncey.
