Obviously he may end up playing tomorrow I was just going by the announcement of his injury keeping him out.

Johnson or Harry Clarke? on 18:09 - Oct 4 with 1897 views | SheffordBlue | If Axel can't play I'll personally be amazed if it's anyone other than Ben Johnson. Think some of the criticism of him was over the top and missed out on the fact that his league starts came against the Man City and Liverpool in an evolving team that is much more settled now. He also has lots of familiarity with the players he might be up against tomorrow.

Ah I didn't know an injury had been announced. Johnson next in line I'd assume, with Harry more likely to be reintroduced from the bench when he's deemed ready. *Sorry I hadn't read beyond Phil's headline. [Post edited 4 Oct 2024 18:12]

Going from McKenna's usual approach, he prefers full backs on the bench to centre backs. Plus Clarke can cover the middle if need be too. If Clarke isn't ready to play a part then, yes, Woolfenden will probably be next in line.

He came on vs Soton, ran with the ball and looked like he’d never played before.

We were pushing for an equaliser - without knowing what instructions he'd been given by McKenna when he came on that sub appearance is difficult to judge. We've given him a 4 year deal - presumably on decent money. I suspect McKenna sees a much bigger future for him with the club than some of our fans do!

Like when he won the free kick that ultimately led to our goal?
