Did we perhaps go a bit to Paul Cook after that game with the changes. Or was it more that Liverpool struggled up until 60 minutes.
Memory serves me correctly we not only held our own but we took the game to them and it kinda felt we had enough about us to be OK and just needed a tad more as we'd blown a gasket come 60 minutes.
7 games on and we do with respect look worse as a team than the one that started that game.
So what do you think all. We've got to go through the pain until this whole squad gels. Or did we go to quick in changing things to much?
If buts etc I know. But I'm caught tbh. That 60 minutes was probably our most dangerous 60 of the season so far and that's not taking anything away from the villa game.

That last 20 whilst we didn't score. It looked so much more natural
Chaplin became a danger in the middle. Hutch was dangerous on the flanks. Davis started having more of the ball. Taylor was getting forward and offering another midfielder. Hirst was pressing and caused problems.
Just so much more natural. Sure Everton didn't need to come at us but our passing was crisper. The movement on the ball much better | |

First game of season. Anything can happen. Liverpool were not into their stride. Other teams are starting to get used to playing again and we have lost all confidence

I think you shouldn't read too much into the last 20 minutes. Everton stopped even trying to engage us, and just let us pass the ball around in front of them. It's a lot easier to pass the ball neatly if the other team doesn't try and stop you. |  |

I do agree however it wasn't the neatness of the passes it was the quickness and directness in which we passed it around at times. Quick one twos. Triangles. Just natural compared to any other moments in the rest of the game.

Hard to judge but Everton stopped engaging us and we’re happy to keep their shape. Can see why you thought that as it did look better but some mitigating circumstances maybe allowed us to play that way. |  | | |
