Crazy with todays modern day technology that we can't hear the VAR audio after games.

I wonder what the rationale was behind not sending the ref to review the chaplin foul....

Not crazy at all. Its clearly easy to do, but there is no way they want us hearing it.

All it will do is add to the controversy and circus of it all. It's bad enough already.

And it would bring an even bigger spotlight onto the VAR officials involved going into future games, which shouldn't be the case really.

Have you not heard it previously, it literally is like this.

"Check Kev, "
"Yeah no worries mate"
"lines being drawn mate"
"Chaplin is dead on the floor mate, quick check"
"Nothing doing, check over mate"
"Corr blimey, glad you saved my butt mate"

The whole thing needs to be adapted into a blend of American football, rugby, and cricket.

Reviews instigated by managers/captains on a DRS-type basis. Review undertaken at the next break in play, and review lost if unsuccessful.

All reviews to be carried out on the in-stadium screens.

Officials (on-pitch and VAR room) to be mic-ed up, and the process and rationale to be audible within the stadium.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

No offence, but that all sounds awful.

Wouldn't be awful if the right decision was arrived at though.

Works well in cricket - no possibility of any potentially dodgy practices by the officials, it's all out in the open - and seeing that, the crowds always accept decisions not in their favour, even if they don't like them.

-"im buying my daughter a flat, i need the money"

-"yeah, i need a jeep for the place in Spain i bought from the money i got disallowing that Coventry goal last year to ensure a pay day Manchester derby FA cup final"

"So not a penalty then, even though anyone with a brain can see it should be?"

"yep"

Here lies the problem, you're wanting the 'right' decision when we're constantly debating subjective incidents. The majority of the time you aren't going to get the right decision.

Also, football is not cricket. It's fast paced, at least it's meant to be. DRS in cricket is also a bit of theatre, a bit of fun, which is fine because let's face it cricket is not as important or tribal as football (I love cricket by the way). Football doesn't need or want that added theatre in my opinion.

Adding reviews and challenges etc just adds another layer of controversy and something to debate. It's changing the game even more when we haven't got VAR right yet.

VAR is a good idea implemented very badly. If the FA/premier league had looked at rugby and other sports. Picked the good bits and used those then we would have a wonderful system. However they ignored everything and introduced a poorly thought out system that has caused more problems than it stopped

Poll: Is it Pink home and away from now on in
