Overall a very good performance. Bar the early threats from them (and they were threatening) we bossed the first half but ultimately struggled to create anything really clear cut from memory. Hutchinson had so much ball and looked so useful but never really found a killer ball or shot.

The way I described it during the game was that we were a much better team but that perhaps Leicester have better players, mainly referring to their two wide men. This is where we're struggling most at the moment.

As her above, Hutchinson is talented but isn't offering enough of a goal/assist threat. And I know people will say we don't play with 'wingers' and rather we use two 10s but Sammie Szmodics spent a fair amount of time out wide today and it's not his position, which is a shame because he's industrious and obviously has a goal in him. I think it's either him or Chaplin for the actual no.10 position, we have Jack Clarke and Nathan Broadhead waiting to fill the left side role.

I thought the penalty appeal was very soft at the time. Having seen the slow mo going round it does look very clumsy however. I do think Chaplin goes down easily though, it's almost like he knows he isn't going to out muscle Fatawu(?) shoulder to shoulder so he just waits to be 'fouled' - if you watch his feet he's actually almost completely off the floor when the contact comes, meaning he's naturally going to go flying. If it's Morsy, Hirst or Delap on the receiving end of that tackle the player bounces off them and there's no mention of a penalty. It plays to the narrative that we're not getting the rub of things, and we're not, but I think you'd want Chaplin to be stronger there. I doubt many neutral fans will watch that and think we're hard done by.

Phillips - a really good game from him. He's had a few now, alongside some less good, but he's playing his role. The sending off looked so harsh. Yet to see it back and maybe I'm wrong but I don't think he's even making a tackle, he's just stretching for a 50/50 ball and the defender comes flying out and has to take everything to get the ball. It's his own momentum that means Phillips makes contacts. Like McKenna said, no need for the referee to make such a big call and change the course of the game.

They didn't look a threat 11 vs 11. From 85' onwards the goal was inevitable though unfortunately, I was just resigned to it. No real fault pointed at anyone. Morsy could have been smarter and was optimistic in wanting a foul, but either way it was all them at that stage and they still had another 4 minutes or so to play. I think they would have found a way even if they hadn't scored the one they did.

Thought O'Shea was superb. Won so many headers. Special mentions also for Johnson - I'm still not sold but that was his best game for us - and Chaplin. Morsy also brilliant overall, as he usually is.

Tough to take but if we trust our manager we have to believe that good performances will eventually bring results. And that was a good performance.

I think you are the only person who has any remote doubts about the penalty. I think you are entirely wrong. You cant plough into a player like that with no attempt at the ball. Ref had already penalised Delap several times for far more genuine attempts at the ball.

Why should a player be stronger if someone ploughs into him and makes no attempt for the ball.

Over on foxestalk there are Leicester fans saying that got away with the penalty decision. Based on that I will have to disagree with your assessment that most neutral fans wouldnt say we were hard done by.

Free header in the first half at the back post. O'Shea....gotta be hitting the target.

Ade Akinbiyi couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo...

He also had the header across goal in the build up to the penalty incident... he is completely free on the edge of the six yard box and heads back across the six yard box instead of aiming at the far post. Really bizarre. He should have scored two.

You have to expect a player to offer some physicality to try and withstand the challenge. Otherwise you'd never see any more shoulder to shoulder, and while the game is soft these days you can still do it.

All I'm saying is I can see why it wasn't given.

It wasnt shoulder to shoulder. And when you go shoulder to shoulder, you must be competing for the ball.

There’s offering physicality to a fair challenge - and then there’s being totally bowled over when a clumsy challenge goes straight through your chest.

I can’t see no reason why it wasn’t a penalty.

Trying to take your blue tinted specs off to be objective. An objective that should be admired IMO. But I think maybe you're trying to be too objective in this case.

Stonewall pen no ifs, no buts.

Johnson and O’Shea excellent today. Johnson showed why we bought him. Did a number on mavididi Miles ahead of Clarke for me.
