Yes, he has made it clear that he intends to end the war, how he does is complete speculation by those posting on this thread.

Other than that i have no idea what you are going on about. I do not see the connection between me stating that this thread is full of speculative opinions, and what policies i favour prior to Trumps election, weird.

If i support the Republicans, i do not see why i should have to justify it to the likes of you. It's not a crime you know. Of course it might grate with the woke leaning left, but that's clearly not my problem.

If you don't like me, or what i represent, you don't have to chase me around the board. Feel free to put me on ignore.

It's not complete speculation, his political advisor has already said that the Ukraine will need to cede territory back in May and that has been doubled-down on:

You keep saying people are following you around the board but in reality what they are doing is responding to the biased rubbish you are spewing across various threads. If you don't want to be challenged on your statements when they are clearly false then don't post them but it's ridiculous to tell people to put you on ignore.

Either back up your statements with evidence or don't complain when people pick them apart with evidence.

"woke leaning left"

Pathetic.

The latest from one of Trump’s advisors:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/czxrwr078v7o

Softening up process beginning? Beginning of the end for Ukraine? What does the endgame look like? I know what I’d be demanding as an opening bid if I was Putin:

1. Handover of the disputed (stolen) territories plus a buffer zone.
2. Complete demilitarisation of Ukraine as a secondary buffer zone.
3. Zelenski exiled or to stand trial in Russia for his ‘crimes’.
4. Compensation for losses of Russias men and material.
5. Russia to supervise future security in Ukraine with a promise to leave the rump left as a separate country that can join the EU if it wishes.
6. War crimes by Ukraine personnel to be investigated and perpetrators charged. Show trials.
7. Countries bordering Russia to be removed from NATO and demilitarised as a gesture of intent and further safeguard to Russia’s security.

Peace in our time. All the above signed and guaranteed by Russia and the US, just as the agreement to leave Ukraine alone in exchange for nuclear weapons was guaranteed by those two plus the U.K. That went well.

Back in the real world, demand 1 is likely, 2 possible, the rest fantasy nonsense. But with the orange Putin admirer at the White House helm, who knows what idiocy will emerge. Either way, Ukraine is done, sadly. What a fantastic and brave fight they’ve put up.

Interesting.

You've started two political threads and posted well over 100 times in the last week and none of those posts were about football yet here you are saying people are taking a football forum too seriously.

In reality you're pushing an ideological narrative which you know will annoy a certain section of the forum you deem to be "woke" as some sort of US election victory dance.

Putin is a very concerted user of others, with various levels of threat embedded in his speech, an uncompromising modus operandi and an intensely calculating approach. He may also be clinically insane but also has a vice like grip on power. Which is why I suggested that a robust and co-ordinated rebuff from Europe (both EU and non-EU, but don't expect Switzerland to join in) can bring him to a negotiation position that returns all Ukrainian territories to a form of self-determination that centres power in Kyiv but allows a voice to Russian and the many other ethnic minorities in the nation. The carrot for Russia is that the oil and gas will be flowing to more monied customers again and through easy to deliver pipelines.

But I said most of that before and you didn't pick up on it so I am not holding my breath for it to be considered now.

I really dont think any of it is realistic. Putin is not going to back out and say "fine- have it all back". Just wont happen. He could end the war tomorrow if that was something he would accept.

And the idea that minorities in Ukraine dont have a voice seems like Russian propaganda ratehr than something based in fact.

Don't go accusing me of pushing Russian propaganda, watch a few documentaries on the BBC and get appraised of a complex situation. Again I find your comments lacking in balance.

This idea that russian speaking folk are opressed is one of Putin's arguments for having invaded / infiltrated the areas in question. I have seen precious little evidence for it. Zelensky is, of course, a russian speaker...

Ho hum, you haven't given this any thought. Just gone off on one using assumptions and a Facebooky one track avenue. The current Ukrainian administration are well aware of the balancing act between a national focus and an all encompassing set of policies for both the outward appearance of democracy and the preparation for winning the peace after the war is over. What we have to hope for is that the loss of life is minimised and that those policies are to a large extent successful (see Steven Sackur's interview with Olha Stefanishyna, the Deputy Prime Minister, last year.)
