My opinion would be no. For starters 1st few games we had no Hirst and we wouldn't have had Delap so our only real goal threat (and scorer) would be missing.

Difficult question that
Whilst Delaps scored the majority of goals, if you remove the individual mistakes which lead to goals by those who joined... what would our points total be without delaps goals?
I don't think we'd have coped as well in some games, but the side has looked much more natural since we've had Chappers, Burgess back in the side. Which isn't a slight on any of the new lads in anyway, we just look like a KM ipswich side with originals back in it compared to a side who's trying to find each other. |  |

I don't think we got the balance quite right between new signings and players that knew the system like the back of their hand and as a result looked a bit disjointed in places. It is a huge what if but one we'll never know the answer to so may as well just get behind whoever's on the pitch, and hope for more improvement as we have seen across the last couple of games | | | |

I dont think we will know until the end of the season, but I suspect that the championship side would not finish the season as strongly as this team will once everything has settled down, the injured players are back and the patterns are embedded. The average level over the season will likely be higher with the newer group than the historic group. | | | |

We had to buy when we did if we wanted to bring in 'top' players. PL or PL potential players wouldn't join a team in January that are nearly down already. They'd be better off signing for a top end Champ team. |  | | |

Are you now saying that individual events do affect the outcome of the match?
I thought you believed that matches were made up of a series of atomic events which didn't affect each other or the result?
You spent 5 pages arguing that was the case yesterday and seem to have totally contradicted yourself today.

Then again, we needed the new players to compete over a season, and we needed a period to get them bedded in before they start to operate like our super-coordinated L1 and Champ team, so it's a non-argument really. There had to be a bedding in period, and it had to be at the start of the season.
