Muric 18:07 - Nov 24 with 1332 views | Nthsuffolkblue | does have some brain farts sometimes. Why kick the ball off the pitch after it hit the assistant? It is only because the ref stopped the game for the assistant to get ready that we were able to reset the defence.

The ball was on the pitch inside the area with no Man Utd player near it. He kicked it out. Man Utd went to take a quick throw in (using the multi-ball) but the assistant needed to replace his microphone pack. Not looking to fault Muric at all. He just needs to be a little more streetwise in those sort of things.

Muric on 18:13 - Nov 24 with 1246 views | Chrisd | Muric has had a solid game. I’d rather him sweep up and clear the ball instead of trying to force a pass and he gets caught way out of his goal. For me, he did the right thing there, regroup for the United throw in.

Clearing the ball was spot on. He hesitated, realised he could get there and still came. Quality keeping. What I was criticising was when the ball ricocheted off the linesman he then booted it out. Perhaps in his mind it hadn't gone out of play. That would make it a sensible thing to do. If he realised it was a throw-in it wasn't.

I think Muric knew it had hit him, just want to delay the throw in. Made total sense.

How does kicking the ball out delay the throw in? Surely leaving it in the area or picking it up and carrying it back towards goal does?

He’s not thinking like that, he knows it’s a throw, he’s cleared it after the rebound instead of United getting the ball to hand instantly. Honestly, I think you’re overthinking it.

Maybe overthinking it but it is the sort of dark arts that make the difference. At least we got the point. Not far away from all 3 but could have been 0. COYB!

Another game to be encouraged about regarding the performance. Lots of positives.

You’re right in the reading of the situation. The best way to slow it down would have been to leave the ball on the pitch. It’s not a biggie though. Heat of the moment and all that.

Pretty simple as I read it, can’t take the throw with the ball still in the pitch. Booting it out allows the quick throw.

I'm not so sure that was intentional and got a bit lucky that it had to be retaken.

Thought it was one of his best games Some great short passing. Chipped it long when needed. Collected balls in the air well. That goal.. I'm not sure if that's a keeper error. The only blip to a really good performance.
