Training ground planning application on 17:30 - Nov 26 by LA_Tractor_Boy
Do the club need Bent Lane once the rebuild of Playford Road is complete?
Sell the land for housing perhaps?
Is it big enough for the itfc ladies/academy training ground Ashton mentioned or is just enough as you say to sell as a bit of land for property developers.

The bent lane part which isn't included in this.. how big of a space is that itself. What could perhaps be used there?
Bent Lane is 4.7 hectares of 13.5 in total. I assume there will be other stuff to be built in the future. There was a long-term plan under consideration under ME to build houses in one corner, which is still not used, just the right of the car park. That might potentially come into the thinking again. There was also talk under ME of the university having a building there.

You'll still need the pitches and it's not easy to get planning permission for that sort of land.
I suspect they may look to move the academy teams below the U18s elsewhere. Mark Ashton has said it was under consideration to put them with the Town Foundation prevously and last week was talking about a dedicated Foundation facility, which I would guess might be the other side of town to make more of the recruitment catchment area if the young academy sides are going to be there.
