Can I suggest that a new category of posts for LGBT+ discussion be created by the board moderators so that there is a special place for everyone who wishes to continue with the discussion to do so and leave the rest of us, who share equal protections under the law but may not feel the need to get hysterical about them, to focus on the topics most relevant to a discussion forum ostensibly about football?
Or perhaps I should be barred for not being sufficiently empathetic.

It was primarily one very informative, very well reasoned & respectful thread ( a couple of idiots excepted) that followed on from an accidentally locked one. Nobody forced you to read it, you could have 'red-X'd' it to disappear (tho it sounds as if it would have benefited you to read it). Or switched tabs to 'football only'.
But instead of adding to that, you decided to multiply the 'problem' (not problem to others) that you're complaining about by creating a new thread ... |  |

Yours is a silly, needy post, regardless of the content, because the topic is mostly being kept to one thread, which is very easy to avoid clicking on. I think there was one spin-off thread created today and that was criticised for not simply being added to the original. Now you've tried to create another and have rightly received downvotes. You can even press the red cross on chicoazul's megathread to hide the conversation altogether from the forum home page.

It really shows how far away from a fully inclusive world we are.
It shouldn't matter if there were 10 new threads about this subject. It's a very important matter and honestly I've been shocked at some of the replies about the subject.
More disappointingly the incredibly large majority of supporters who felt it was needed early on in the game to sing the morsy song like he was some form of victim.
I hope the future generations do finally get to a place where discussions like these are not needed. But I hope for those it effects now.. they know there are still many who fully support their lives. |  |

I am lucky. Despite growing up through Section 28 I haven't hugely, directly suffered homophobia. I know why, in my circles and worlds and my family - after I eventually came out - I was accepted. But even just today, in this otherwise safe forum, I realise just how present it is and how unnerved I am. And, again, I am lucky I don't live with it daily. I know muslim, hidden, and other people who cannot be themselves because the homophobia like in this post is real and dangerous. Which is why it matters.
But, today, because of pithy posts on TWTD, I feel less safe. and I am one of the safe ones.
