Has our fan group got our approach to this season somewhat wrong?! 23:44 - Dec 8 with 3756 viewsunstableblue

Quite surprised by the reactions on the board tonight and the general feeling towards today’s game, and indeed the wider season.

I can’t help but feel a lot of fans are misjudging how to feel or approach this season.

We are massive underdogs. Our squad is seasons of investment behind every other team.

Also, crucially we have a manager who has delivered such amazing progression, football and memories for us. He surely demands huge amounts of respect and patience.

Shouldn’t we be providing unconditional support and backing? Indeed rabid backing.

McKenna looked a forlorn and solo character at the end tonight, with empty stands greeting him.

Before we all know it, he’ll move on, and perhaps we’ll feel we didn’t treat this challenging season in the right way.

Let’s treat every game as a cup final, a free hit, and try and enjoy the journey. It was a cracking game today with unbelievable performances from the likes of Burgess and ex-Peterborough Taylor.

Let’s do better.

The entitlement is crazy, amongst many fanbases.

That’s true. It’s hardly unique to us.

I could not agree more. The guy on Ben Johnson’s back the whole match, the other one moaning at Delap for “diving”, the mass exodus (which was absolutely nothing to do with it being Sunday or whatever) at 2-1…

It’s a miracle we’re in most these games, and probably do deserve another 5 points or so at least.

Lots of people feel that way. Some dont.

Thats OK.

Personally, I'm expected us to go down, and am not too bothered if we do. But hope we put up a fight.

Try not to post such patronising messages to those who may feel differently.

That's the thing that needs addressing, because we ARE putting up a fight, we're putting up a hell of a fight given our massive disadvantage coming into this season where we've just skipped straight through the Championship without touching the sides.

And criticism of fans who are throwing their toys out of the pram in these circumstances is entirely justified because it feeds back to the players and the management (a little for now, but it grows so easily).

It's a bit like a modern consumer moaning about the cheap but great value flat pack thingy they bought because it wasn't strong enough when they put it together in a massive hurry without reading the instructions or using any glue. Until they're sensible enough to realise that they are part of the thing, that they need to put proper effort and patience and consideration in and not just run off to Anne Robinson moaning about their consumer rights, all of their dreams will collapse and they'll just spend their life up the corner of their bedroom in a pile of wet knickers with no drawers in which to put them.

(wtf am I going on about! :))

Yes, definitely.

The amount of posts in pre season saying we would comfortably be mid table or top half etc was just insane. People placing bets on all sorts of deluded outcomes.

This season is, was, and always will be about finishing 17th. Anything above that is a bonus.

We need a siege mentality now. It's us against the other 19.

One thing that is annoying me is all these posts about the season being over. I realise points are hard to come by and we've only won once but a couple of wins and it's all back on.

Truly impaired.

Indeed. Just see this season as another part of the journey, not being too bothered about our destination. Sit back and enjoy the view as it passes by.
