Not just Muric fault for the equaliser 07:04 - Dec 9 with 1223 viewsEssexBloo

Johnson loses his man far too easily. We are missing Axel so much, we look much calmer when he is in the team.

Agreed.

Tuanzebe is a big miss and Johnson or H Clarke are not suitable replacements, full stop.

It’s a whole team thing though in that we seem to react to situations too slowly and don’t spot the danger well enough.

The right hand side was a problem all match. Not a lot of communication going on. Omari continually forgot about tracking the runner in behind.

I've had it with Muric, he's a fecking disaster.

Finally someone who talks sense.
The team did not help him and put him ina position to make a decision.

Lets not forget the chances missed at the other end

Johnson has his man wide of him not really that much danger, but he sees Muric coming out, naturally he's expecting Muric to come and collect. If Johnson runs in too fast he runs the risk of running into Muric and who knows, resulting in Muric dropping the ball.
Johnson didn't have a great game but Muric either comes in that situation and must collect or stays near the goal with aim of saving any shot coming in.

Also we overcommitted on the attack. It was literally the first time in the second half we sent so many bodies up to support the attack. We lose the ball easily and then there are four players completely out of the game while Bournemouth counter. Our team held the shape so well till that point and we were effectively containing their attack and reducing them to long range shots. It’s a pity but I think just blaming Muric isn’t going to help us improve. It was a rush of blood to the head and he should’ve stayed on his line but if we hadn’t lost the ball so easily when there was actually support up the pitch for once we wouldn’t have been in that situation at all.

Mostly today I feel disappointed for Burgess who really played the game of his life yesterday and deserved the clean sheet.

I think we are just looking for other reasons. Tuanzebe would not have stopped that. The guy is just quick. The goalie DOES NOT come out in those situations if he's not going to get it. I think its harsh on Johnson. He did Ok against tricky opponents.

Tuanzebe isn't the god that would win us games like some people think. SOmeone even said if he played against palance we win 2-1........Not sure how that works. He magically makes 2 goals for us?

Sorry that isn't right. I was on that side of the pitch, Johnson got done by the inside ball entirely and was too tight to the wide man. Obviously did't need Muric in no mans land though.

If the keeper stayed on or near his line ( definitely in the 6 yard area), they would not have scored, and we would have won that game. Muric AWLAYS has a headless chicken moment in a game. If has time to “ think” he makes the wrong decision. He’s not good enough I’m afraid and we’ve been well a truly done like a kipper over the transfer fee for him.

Watching the highlights back I'm not convinced that's true. He could have stayed on his line and there was still a high risk we would have conceded IMO. Still a poor decision to come if he's not going to get there, but it might not have made any difference. O'Shea lost his man and there were 2 strikers for Burgess to defend against. Leif didn't even bother to try and get back to defend the situation which is criminal really, maybe he was too knackered.

He’s capable of making some great saves but that’s all meaningless when his blunders continuously leads to defeats. It’s like a striker who scores a breathtaking goal only to miss the next ten easy chances - simply clouds people’s judgement.

The annoying thing for me is that Muric looks like a commanding keeper - childishly puts, he looks the part but just isn’t up to it.

I haven't watched the goals back, but I thought all game we didn't get close enough to Semenyo. Compare that to how tightly Hutchinson was marked. Their most dangerous player was left open all the time.

But Johnson was clearly being told to hold position as a central 3 and that made it doubly hard for him to get over to Semenyo when the ball got out to him and he was already running at the defence.

There's many people its seems who now think they can manage football sides better than Kieron and Im not jumping on that wagon but I did feel that we should have nullified him better. We have been open to that ball into the left wing area all season and is a targeted downside of our formation.
