Fav album and single of the year 19:32 - Dec 18 with 3326 views

Not listened to as much new stuff as I'd like this year but the English Teacher album is the stand out for me, rinsed it for several months but it still sounds great and deserves all the plaudits its been getting.

Runners up - new albums by Jamie XX, WH Lung & Underworld.

Not their best album this year IMO but this single was glorious -

Absolutely love the new Underworld album - it's a thing of beauty. Techno Shinkansen is such a good track. Saw WH Lung in Norwich a few weeks back and they were magnificent. No encore though..

Big fan of bands not doing encores

I remember seeing the cribs back in about 2003 and Ryan Jarman saying "encores are for sellouts" in his Wakefield accent. And he's right.

Another Sky are amazing. This one is my favourite song of the year - her voice is stunning.

I've loved everything Mary in the Junkyard have put out. Tuesday by them was my most played on Spotify so I'd go with that as my single of the year Album is between Fontaines DC and, surprisingly the new Jack White record

Best song of the year is Waka Waka (ITFC remix), released around April time.

On a slightly more serious note, best music experience for me was attending a festival for the first time in 25 years, Beautiful Days, and the best discovery for me there was The Lottery Winners.
