I’d say : Best - Hladky, Bialkowski, Walton, Muric, Holy, Norris, Cornell and Worst : Gerken [Post edited 22 Dec 2024 17:52]

If Hladcky was playing for a MM team, then he would probably not look all that great, as he didnt have much presence in his own box and was a very good if not amazing shot stopper. Bart, by contrast, was exceptional as a shot stopper in a MM team, but not sure how he would have fared playing ball out in a KM team. In terms of ability to stop goals, first and foremost, Bart, Muric, Walton, Hladky then any of the others below them. In terms of ability to create goals, Hladcky, Muric, Walton and Norris are possibly the only ones who showed they could do it (in that order?). In any team, asked to played any way, Holy is last.

Hladky was an underrated shot stopper and very good with his grey. Didn't like claiming crosses and often punched ones that looked easy. Muric had all the pieces to be an exceptional keeper, but those pieces sometimes fall out at random intervals.
Ranking our recent goalkeepers on 18:18 - Dec 22 with 1491 views | Churchman | Bart was far and away the best keeper of that little lot. No 2 Walton. He’s a proper goalkeeper. 3. Muric. Controversial but he actually comes for the ball and looks the real deal.. Errors? Too many, but for a keeper he’s quite young and he will learn. Stay with him. 4. Hladky. Great against mediocre Championship teams with time on his side. Decent shot stopper. The rest? Forget it.

I agree with your comment regarding Muric. But part of me feels we need to be given a couple of games to catch some thoughts. Put Walton in for the gunners and chelsea, which I dont see as any thing to lose, But togive Muric some rest. If Muric stays in, let him be allowed to throw the ball out past the halfway line. Stop making it so predictable and easy to close us down in our half

Hi Christian, we're going to build up your confidence by putting you in two games we don't expect a result in. Is that how you'd phrase it?

I dont recall Walton looking that out of place against Liverpool

In terms of what goal keepers used to be ranked on i.e savings shots, handling and catching crosses then Muric would be well in the lead followed closely by Bart. Hladky pulled off some good saves but couldn't catch a cross and Walton is very average at all of them.
