Good Managers 12:26 - Dec 23 with 2932 views | turtle2 | So much tripe on this forum about Kieran and what may / may not happen. He is an exceptional manager and will be with us - hopefully - for the next 5 years. Robson / Ferguson - all got given many years and the contract ITFC have with K will be of similar ilk.... Keep saying we have a long term plan at the club - realism of the owners probably means an acceptance that we may need to go down and we're still on track to be good enough to stay in the prem 3-5 years down the line...... for now I still dont think its that bad ... Look at other clubs around us - made our result look nothing untoward ..... If people think we are going to beat Ara owned billion pound football clubs at this stage - forget it ? can we finish with 3-5 teams below us - ABSOLUTELY - we can and are still right in the mix to achieve that ...... KM has brain .... he aint going anywhere

If we are in the Prem he stays I suspect, if we aren't, he probably moves on a la Kompany but he won't luck out and end up at Real Madrid as an equivalent I just hope we have a succession plan which takes us forward fairly seamlessly

Good Managers on 09:50 - Dec 24 with 2306 views | IPSWICHFANITFC | In the summer there was a decent argument, but not so sure now. Where does he go next? Spurs are probably the biggest club who might be in with a sniff, but the majority of the league look fairly stable with their managers bar maybe West Ham and Everton if the new owners decide to make fresh changes and do it their way (though that’s a decision they need to make on Dyche sooner rather than later, and we won’t lose McKenna to Everton now either). Even if we went down, I’m not so sure we lose him. Things can change though. I think Bournemouth could be one to keep an eye on. Iraola is getting some plaudits and they’re just a stepping stone club, he could land one of the top jobs in Europe in the summer and McKenna may fancy that role if it become available.

Good Managers on 10:41 - Dec 24 with 2267 views | Pinewoodblue | Realistically was expecting around 15 pts at the halfway stage of the season, with an improvement in the second half. Looks like we will be a little short after the next two games but you never know. It isn’t just our results that matter but we do need maximum points from the remaining games against the other five bottom feeders.

If McKenna left us for Bournemouth, I would really feel sick.

Good Managers on 17:05 - Dec 24 with 2030 views | MK1 | McKenna is a very good manager, no doubt about it. The only thing I would say, is that he is showing a stubbornness to change formation when it is pretty obvious we need more bodies in midfield. McKenna knows more about football than all of us put together, but I would like to see him react quicker to what is in front of him. I am not using the Newcastle game as a yard stick, as that can happen to any side on a given day, but the fact most sides have strolled through our midfield so far this season, I would expect a very good manager to react to that. I think they get dismantled in the summer. There’s a few there who could play for the big 6. It’s a club who do it the way he likes though so we couldn’t rule them out.

Not quite sure why so many down arrows. Read this as a positive post. He IS an exceptional manager. He's highly ambitious. He will most likely go at the end of the season and he'd go with my absolute best wishes and thanks. I will be absolutely gutted though! Enjoy him while we have him. Even if that is harder in this division. [Post edited 25 Dec 2024 15:15]

Good Managers on 15:23 - Dec 25 with 1671 views | Denny32 | Yes ..he has been a good manager and Coach for us ..but only to the point where he has instilled his own way of playing and tactics in to the minds of players he only knows that will take it on board ..would he do the same with a bigger premier ship club and its players with big ego and maybe that unwillingness to listen to mckenna..?? Not sure ..

I’ve yet to see anyone not get on board, and that includes players like Philips, who isn’t exactly small fry. Cajuste from a CL team. They all speak very highly of him and reckon he’s an excellent man manager and motivator. I’m guessing, but suspect KM would do well pretty much anywhere.

He has top level man management, extremely hard working to point of obsessive and a very very sharp footballing mind. He has everything to be successful wherever he goes. Definitely need a bit of luck along the way in getting next club right. In retrospect Brighton probably would have been brilliant for him (but I certainly didn't see it that way at the time. Did not realise they could spend quite how they did). So glad he chose to stay. If he keeps us up it would be incredible 3 seasons in a row.
