Was anyone else listening?

I'm pretty sure I heard MM talking about invertebrate full backs...

It was better than that, he said how Pep was confusing himself with too much change and his latest thing was Introverted full backs. Made me laugh out loud, I love Mick. Thought his analysis of the situation was spot on, we are in a fight with 6 other teams and it’s too soon to right off our chances.

If you are going to have a pop at our greatest ever captain over his slip, at least spell 'write' right!

Aah... that's what I was referring to but I didn't remember the right wrong word. Thanks for the correction.

I believe Mick comes from Godalming in Surrey. Nothing to do with his comments I know. What I do know though is he was a tremendous captain for Town. His leadership was second to none. Yes he's a bit boring as a football pundit/commentator, but at least he is not a w*nker like quite a few I could name.

I have realised why I made the op error...

It is because a few days ago I read a forum (not on TWTD) on which someone described Nigel Farage as an "invertebrate liar". A couple of replies suggested "You mean 'an inveterate liar' ". After some to-and-fro it was decided that either word was appropriate.

He can say whatever he wants when it comes to football - he knows much more than I do about it.

Fantastic player and captain. I occasionally found myself thinking that he was maybe not all that good, but if he missed a game through injury it was quite obvious that his influence on the pitch and on his team mates was as important as his his own footballing contribution.
Sometimes he took a shot, which always raised a laugh as it would be nowhere near the target, but I won't hear a word against him.
I heard from a youth team player at around that time (1972) that he had an after training party-piece, where he would line the balls up on the practice pitch and curl all of them into the open changing room door from 50-60 yards away. I often wondered why if he could do that, his shooting was so bad?

Probably indicates the difference between passing and shooting if nothing else.

He nutmegged Gunter Netzer when we beat Real Madrid at PR in 73. Should have been knighted for that alone!
