In the article on the main page, Phil stated he was once interviewed for the Town post. When was this? When we appointed Mckenna? Or long before?

Before we appointed Hurst.

Shame he’s gone to West Ham, would have been ideal for us in the summer, because I’ll be amazed if KMc is still here at the beginning of next season.

Before he was famous. Pretty sure it would have been around the time of Hurst, might be wrong

Manchester United or Spurs? Surely there aren’t too many clubs that would appeal to him, and who are likely to require a manager who is (potentially!) unproven in the Premier League.

Evans had a history of nearly making a good decision or getting things over the line. He had Rodgers ready to join (although that might have been scuppered by him getting an offer somewhere else) and Potter. What might have been, eh? Although I suspect alone neither of those appointments would have made much difference, as the issues were structural around Evans himself.

I had originally thought KM would be off after this season regardless of what division we're in. But the way he's backed, the squad he's putting together, I can see him staying longer and really building something special.

There was a low-key but persistent campaign by a few on here to bring him in as manager here during the latter stages of his time at Östersund in Sweden, before he went to Swansea.
Whether that was how he got on Evans' radar or not we don't know.

I was a big fan back then. He had quite a few years in Sweden and his teams were getting better and better. I’m surprised it took so long for any clubs over here to take notice and go for him. Although when he did come to Swansea there defence under him went really bad. Cooper sorted that out immediately when he came in and got them higher up the table. So Potter might not be the messiah - it’ll be into see how he gets on at West Ham.

Maybe I catastrophising and trying to soften the blow by preparing for it.... I obviously hope he'll still be here and for the third summer in a row, keeping him will be the best news in the summer.

Yes, there's an awful lot of catastrophising about both McKenna and Delap. I don't think McKenna will be off in the summer, there's not a great number of clubs he'd go to, and the ones he possibly would are all backing their managers, or seem to be, at least currently.

I really think 'the project' which keeps being mentioned, is to slowly build a team, year on year that can compete for the European places and win cups.

That will excite McKenna, if he can do that with Town, he'll walk into any job in the world, never mind the Premier League.
