Concessions? 09:19 - Jan 16 with 1579 views | bracknell_blue | A fellow town fan (and OAP) I bumped into whilst walking the dog told me he had heard a rumour that the club were scrapping all concessions for tickets/STs next season. Now, I haven't heard this but has anyone else?

It’s how Bournemouth can establish themselves in the PL whilst playing at a Sunday league ground. Therefore such a move would generate a lot of ill will for very little financial income to the club. The evidence so far is that our owners are far too commercially savvy to consider such a move. Hopefully that continues to be the case.

I was in with some old mates, in the home section, at the Spurs game - awkward! - one of whom was bemoaning the sheer number of 'daytripper' fans they now have in sections of the ground bought up for package deals on the international market. Higher spend on merch & food/drink etc. for a one off occasion.

Given the significant increase Town have placed on Exec Boxes etc. I wouldn't be surprised to see us head down this route. [Post edited 16 Jan 10:17]

Not sure why being a boomer is relevant. There are younger fans who believe every transfer rumour they see on Twitter! | | | | Login to get fewer ads

What with Man Utd being a globally supported club they can get away with it simply due to the huge amounts of support they enjoy. Local kid can’t afford to go, never mind as someone in Plymouth, Oslo or Beijing will. To a certain extent West Ham can as well due to the fact they are based in London and lots of tourists see watching a PL match as an experience to tick-off whilst on holiday. Not sure we, as a club, are at that stage which we can match the above. We’re a one club town which enjoys great levels of local support. Even in the dark days of ME we were still averaging 14-15K which is more than 10% of the immediate local population (much more than most of the big boys). Long may that continue
