Burns Injury 07:12 - Jan 26 with 1858 views | LA_Tractor_Boy | Obviously we're all hoping that Burns' injury isn't as serious as it looks, but if it is knee ligaments and he's out for the season, where do we think that leaves us in the last week of the transfer window? Will KMc play Hutch and Philogene on the right, or will we be in the market for another right-sided player? If so, presumably this will have to be a loan as Ben Doak is no longer an option.

We have 2 defensive options in Johnson and Clarke (maybe 3 with Godfrey), and attacking options with Omari, Jaden, Julio (maybe 4 with Delap) - unfortunate that Burns is the most comfortable doing both...

Burns Injury on 07:49 - Jan 26 with 1663 views | melbs_itfc | Yes it is definitely a real shame both for Burns and the team. It will be interesting what transfer plans the club take, if any, to cover a very important right side role for the team. Also, with Encisco now in the building our domestic loan slots is now filled, so they would have to be from the overseas market. Though I’m not sure if we really have the luxury to wait for someone coming in that will likely need an adjustment period to the demands of the Premier League. Therefore, my guess would be that we will make do with the players already in the building and that personnel would change from game to game depending on the oppositions strengths etc. Especially as we are still potentially trying to find that third striker aswell.

Clarke will almost certainly go on loan I'd guess. Of the others mentioned, only Hutch really played wide right? I don't think any of the others mentioned can play that role.

Loan seems to be the plan for Clarke, but if we can't bring in cover can see a similar situtation as with Al-Hamadi in the summer when we failed to sign a 3rd No.9 and kept him on. We're limited with what we can do having 2 domestic signings - if we do want to sign another right sided player, it would have to be a permanent or an overseas loan; also limited with squad numbers, as we're still on 26. At Hull, Jaden played about a 3rd of his games and Delap a quarter last season on the right, but obviously our right-sided role will be different.

We'll be going back to 4 at the back so there is less pressure on Johnson in that sense. It will be hutch wide right with the option of Jaden and Broadhead playing there if needs be. We might dip back in the market, especially if we can't find a striker but not sure who we'd even go for.

If it is confirmed as a season ending injury for Burns that potentially opens up another squad spot.
Burns Injury on 09:33 - Jan 26 with 1014 views | TractorFrog | Burns has gone from not looking at all comfortable in the Premier League early in the season, to now making me think our chances of getting back into the Liverpool game were gone as soon as he went off. He is perfectly suited to that role and will be a huge miss.
| They'd all laugh at me if they knew what I was trying to do. To create a new strain of super-wine in half-an-hour with a fraction of nature's resources and a FOOL for an assistant. 'Bernard Black, he's mad,' they'd say, 'he's insane, he's dangerous.' Well I'll show them! I'll show them all! | Poll: | Who should start in CM with Cajuste? |

Burns Injury on 09:51 - Jan 26 with 922 views | SomethingBlue | We'll really lack an out-and-out wide player who can get in behind while also knowing what the team needs defensively. Patrick Wimmer came on and scored for Wolfsburg yesterday, wonder if he's an option after all, fits the physical profile more than most.
