Who is going to be the Left Wing Hero? on 21:40 - Feb 6 by Swailsey
Broadhead? Jayden? Sammie? Has this joke been done yet?
Several times, but I don’t think anyone’s got a better idea. It’s the same as how Farage is an obvious wrong’un with no actual answers, but the easily convinced lap up his grifting.

They have ruined it already within 6 months unfortunately we will be the laughing stock of the world. Looking forward to when Reform win the next election.
Do you regret not being around in the 1930s to bring in Mussolini and Hitler? Ignorance will cause massive harm

How does cosying up to the EU and not being a part of it make us any more relevant?
It's clear that we should be more of a part of it. The direction of madness in the US under Trump, Musk etc. isn't just going to fade away. Somewhere needs to stand up to them and that isn't going to be the UK, Germany, France, Spain etc alone. You can't just sit in the middle and hope it all goes away.
Anyway, it's nearly the weekend so some tunes...
One of my fave bands from the 80s
...and another, nothing's changed

right now there isn't a clear leader of the opposition, but names that spring to mind are Josh Shapiro (PA gov), Ritchie Torres (NY - House of Rep), Andy Beshear (Kentucky gov), Wes Moore (Maryland gov), Pete Buttigieg, Jared Polis (Colorado gov), Pritsker (Illinois gov)

I doubt any political figure will be a Hero as the media etc is so against progressive politicians. However, possibly Elizabeth Warren (though I doubt it). Economists: Stephanie Felton, Mark Hudson.
Over here: Gary Stevenson, and Richard J Murphy are interesting characters.
Public sentiment has to shift, so that Governments are made to work for the people rather than bankers/hedge fund managers. Something that hasn’t happened (arguably) since the 1950’s/60s. People have got used to being shat on by billionaires, tech companies, politicians, and the media, so it’s little wonder that we accept our lot, and accept that we are not getting a lot in return.
“Left wing economists”is that a thing ?

The obvious answer is Marx, but if we're looking at post-WW2 social democracy (which sadly seems to be going out of fashion), Keynes probably deserves a shout, even though he was a Liberal.
