Birmingham are at home tomorrow 19:33 - Feb 14 with 2110 viewstextbackup

Is that a regular thing, both Villa and Brum at home on the same day?

not usually! I would think the local police thought it easier to control the fans to KO the same time than say Brum as one of the EFL 12.30 games which I wouldn't seeing as by the time Brum finish and get to City Centre Ipswich and Villa fans will have left BNS and headed to Villa Park.

I assume they think Charlton fans are coming up via London trains and Ipswich from Peterbrough. Could be an interesting mix of fans on the trains!

And Walsall!

Us and the sister botherers are at home next Sat, not as bad I know and happens more than people think.

I’m sure there will be a couple of mentions about that next week. It’s easier to keep us and them apart for the whole season when we are in the same league.

Re Birmingham/Villa home matches on the same day. Didn’t our semi final at Birmingham get rearranged for a different day due to Villa playing at home to Leeds on the same evening because of a bit of history between Brum and Leeds ?

A couple of months later when we visited Villa, Birmingham were also at home that day.

You don't think many fans are coming in via New St?

You don’t see many of them on the Norwich trains that stop at Ipswich on Matchday mind you. They don’t have the same regional reach as Ipswich do, despite everything that’s happened, Norwich is just too out of the way.

Norwich goes into the Fens/Lincs whereas we are more Herts/Essex.

I've seen a few too many of them for my liking at Stowmarket train station though.

It’s really not that far apart and after working the West Midlands area years ago and actually having the unfortunate experience of attending their derby . I dread to think what could happen

Nasty horrible clash

Blimey it was 14 years ago but …..

I’ve seen more Forest fans at Ely, March and Peterborough than I have ever Norwich.

Obviously North Essex was always traditional Ipswich territory, before London moved in.

Clacton/Harwich was always blue. Not sure about now. We'd have a fair amount of the Colne towns, Braintree, Witham area as well, shared with the usual Spurs/West Ham types.

The Evans era did a good job at shrinking our territories.

At uni in Birmingham I met a villa fan who blamed his banning order on BC fans. It turned out he’d urinated off the top deck of villa park onto some of them.

Throw in West Brom which is only really the other side of Handsworth and two of the three will be at home reasonably regularly. Not the same rivalry but the distance is about the same.
