Kieran on 23:48 - Feb 15 by SitfcB | Seeing it back definitely feel it was harsh, a foul yes, these days unfortunately, a yellow? Not so sure… No need for the Villa player to go down though but that’s what most players are like now. |
Have to say, I thought the second was an obvious yellow card at time but an ex-player who watched it back thought it was very, very harsh. Probably not as debatable as the first as that wasn't actually a foul.

Of course we all scream for the penalty, hand on heart if it's given against you you're fuming. In the cold light of day I try to judge decisions on how you would feel if they were awarded against you. Clever play from Delap, was he forced down or did he want to, did he initiate the contact even? We all moan at refs but for 90 minutes there are 22 players trying to fool him. |
"We all moan at refs but for 90 minutes there are 22 players trying to fool him" Great line and 100% true. A lot of people would do well to remember it.

I think the second one is probably a foul that's borderline yellow, taken in isolation neither side would probably argue too much if a card was issued or not.

Think that's fair. | | | |

Kieran on 09:59 - Feb 16 by Simonds92 | The Delap one was a penalty all day, the action of being full pelt trying to control the ball while sliding on one knee and then standing up, only to be clipped during this movement is enough for you to fall down. Don't buy in to the Chelsea fan girls online saying it was a dive. |
Nah, he definitely went looking for it. Glad it’s gone in our favour but I’d be fuming if it was given against us! Clever but gamesmanship play by Delap.

He may have been looking for it, he may not of. However, he may have regained his feet without the contact, and the contact denied that opportunity. In that situation, it's a penalty every time.
Kieran on 21:16 - Feb 17 with 528 views | gosblue | In today's football the 2nd one's a yellow. However, the next time you're standing in a queue and someone puts a hand on you shoulder, fall down and see what you get.

Kieran on 01:33 - Feb 16 by BlueStreak | Couldn’t agree more. The second yellow is nailed on and can’t believe that is being disputed. What annoys me more is that both of those bookings are totally avoidable if other players are more physically up to it defensively. Johnson for the first one was so weak and same with Omari with the second. Common trend developing here where our weak forward players cause issues for us. |
