It’s a reference back to the 1990s when they were still at MR, we were on a par with them in the second tier and vying for promotion together (remember that?! Our roads split monumentally when we were then bought by rather different owners…).
Anyway, back then before the split, their fans kept saying they, “citeh”, were “massive”, so fans of other clubs including ourselves and Leeds fans in sports bars in Leeds took to calling them “the massives” and “citeh”, mockingly. |  |
