It is so unjust to lose a player of Axels importance to us for 140 minutes because of 1 mistake by an official.... madness that a booking that contributes to a sending off leading to further suspension can't be examined and if necessary corrected?

True...but then you have a good enough squad to cope with injuries and suspensions. Unfortunately we don't.

Maybe it's wise not to pull a players shirt when you're already on a yellow

No he shouldn't have got the first. But he got one. So he had to be careful which he wasn't.

But I don't understand the intrusive nature of VAR to " get it right" which completely messes with the game when time is limited against having days to correct an obvious injustice.

He could have started with Wolfenden and not Godfrey also, what’s happening in training to make him so adverse to starting Wolfenden? He’s not had a bad game this season yet other new players come in and don’t perform yet still get selected to our detriment week on week?

Yep. It’s how we respond to the injustice that’s most important. Not that I wouldn’t like to see that ref hung, drawn and quartered. And then tarred and feathered for good measure. And to really rub it in, make him ref Norwich games for eternity. Still got to deal with it though.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

The inconsistency between fouls with the referees is what frustrates me, you get similar challenges going unpunished, sometimes identical fouls in the same games.. the level of shlthousery in the premier league from some of the players as well, is pure and simply embarrassing .

That's more like it... you see reasoned examination followed by appropriate remedy..... though I still think you're being a tad soft on the ref!

Wolfie’s problem is he didn’t cost us enough money and therefore obviously can’t be good enough

So punish us for 60 mins of the VIlla game but then on realising the mistake the FA/PGMOL should correct the decision and remove the following suspension. That needs to be addressed this summer as a change in the rules.

The unstinting quest to sign "proven" Premier League players......

Well now, players like Woolfy, Burgess, Szmodics, etc are proven. And playing better than some of the so called experienced PL players. We need to get our head around the fact that some of the players who came with us from L1 are still worth their place.

We need to be playing a 3-4-2-1 home and away. Maybe a 4-2-3-1 if we have Axel and Townsend as the full backs, but playing 4 across the back with Leif and Godfrey/Johnson bombing forward as wingbacks is just disrespectful to the quality of this league and asking for trouble.

Tuanzebe has always struggled with injuries, problem is McKenna and co have recruited poorly in general this season.

Oh I agree. I think it's daft you can't appeal yellows. They have an effect as much as reds.

They are currently worse than reds under the current procedures!..... that was basically my point in the OP but I didn't really make ot clear.

Whilst you are right, that's the issue really with the massive gap between PL and Champ, its about the quality prolonged wealth gives you.

We have spent an awful lot this season to get the quality up and the 1st XI surely has much more quality. If we had been able to put out our best XI for many more weeks could we be in a better position?

We aren't allowed to strengthen the whole squad sufficiently due to PSR so the impact when we get (alot of) injuries and (unjust) suspensions we struggle. If you have been in the PL for multiple years you have that chance to slowly bring quality into the squad so you have adequate cover in all positions. We are miles off that and the club know it.

Are all the injuries linked to the intensity of the training so to some degree self inflicted?
