Harsh final sentence.

Powering into the encyclopaedia of home league debuts from hell: Patrick Dorgu for Manchester United.

His role in one of two wet concessions by United last night was surpassed in eye-bleeding terms by him hacking through the left shin of Ipswich Town’s Omari Hutchinson a few minutes before half-time. There are red cards, and then there is Dorgu’s.

With 10 men, and gnawing incompetence notwithstanding, United edged the game 3-2. I’m not sure if that says more about them or Ipswich, who are increasingly wasting space in the Premier League.

nope, just my experience of talking to people outside of orford!

there's a far greater proportion of pearl-clutching woe-is-me snowflakes (who barely posted while we were on the way up) on here...

since 2010. And don't live in Orford. Nice prejudice tho.

And your anecdotal evidence trumps The Athletic, obviously.

I still see people taking about luck, belief and bad decisions.

The blue tinted denial is ridiculous.

Sorry, so you don't think we could quite conceivably be 5-6 points better off than our current position?

Leicester home (2 points) - Chaplin penalty and KP red card
Brentford away (1 point) - Clarke red card
Fulham away (2 points) - Clarke's shot hits anything but the post we win the game IMO
Bournemouth home (1 point) - Inexplicable Muric error sets the rot in

Even if you look at just the Leicester and Fulham games in isolation, we'd only be a point from safety and looking at things very differently.

We've not been good enough to take advantage of other scenarios though, that's undeniable.

it's not prejudicial to say you're from orford, it's a lovely place!

so, the athletic posted one hatchet job, did you fail to see any of the many positive articles about itfc over the season then?

almost as if you have non-blue tinted glasses!

Ok, I'll add some positivity to my reality and you, perhaps, some reality to your positivity.

highlighting one negative article over the positive ones is at best negativity, at worst agenda-pushing. neither is helpful, and it certainly isn't reality!

still, always good to have more positivity, so good luck with that bit, i'm rooting for you!

Must just be a coincidence that the 3 promoted teams are all going back down again for a 2nd season then.

And our PPG is broadly the same in the first half of the games we've played this season as the 2nd half.

Surely it can’t really be argued that results haven’t been going downhill when we’ve got 1 point from our last 7 games?

It’s comfortably our worst run of the season, and your ‘halves of the season’ totals only work because we won 2 games in December, which will be c2 1/2 months ago when we next play a league match

Splitting the season itself in half, we got 15 points from 19 in the first half, and only 2 from 8 so far in the second…

What they should be doing, if they really want to pretend their professional journalists rather than writers looking for a quick soundbite, is why the last six teams promoted from the Championship have ended up adrift from the pack before Easter.

A lot of you haven't taken into account the word '...increasingly'. In other words, having praised our attitude and performances earlier in the season (as many of my non Town supporting friends did) noting we have got progressively worse. I doubt many of us would argue with that!
