It seems a bit odd that we ended up using him as a left back. He’s obviously in his element as a more forward playing central midfielder. I know it’s a thing playing youngsters out wide while they learn their trade, but left back seems a bit of a stretch even bearing that in mind.

Easy, tell him he’s main man in midfield next year. Him, Morsy, possibly Taylor but hopefully a Luongo type signing and we will actually have some balance there. Other than on tv, I’ve only seen him filling in at back or sub, but I think he looks a smashing player. He deserves his chance, assuming we are in the Championship next year.

We are a going to be a parachute club and have spent well over 120M, with plenty of trading on the cards this summer. Morsy, Taylor and a Mass type signing? We didn’t just get promoted from League 1.

I think some might be rather surprised by our starting 11 next year.

Agreed, but I think Humphreys looks the real deal and the type of player we need in our woeful midfield.

I think he looks far more suited to being in behind the striker than in a midfield 2 like we play. Also wouldn’t be surprised if we tried him at wing back again if Leif goes

Play him in his best position and find another wing back. Easy to say from the comfy old arm chair, of course. However, I just like to see players in their best position rather than squeezing them in somewhere.

Is he good enough to play in his best position?

From what I’ve seen of him, I believe he is. But sweeping that bravado aside, what the heck do I know? In other words, no idea if I’m honest. I just think he has something about him and deserves to try that step up which means week in week out Championship football. He’s clearly too good for L1.
