He won't be playing anywhere near as much football next season stuck on a " big clubs" bench....

He'll end up being loaned back to us in January after only making three appearances from the subs bench.

Probably the biggest transfer story in our history, the biggest story of the summer potentially given he's young and English and people can't decide just how good he is. It's hardly surprising, this will just be the start.

All next season he will make the headlines for good or for ill as he'll go to a global club, in a global league.

He's scored 12 league goals (so far) in the 3rd worst team in the league. Why do you assume he'll be on the bench?

Because we probably didn't expect him to get so much game time due to Hirst's injury and failing to sign another striker would be my reasoning.

I'm not sure I follow what that has to do with next season?

Good shout, the would seem perfect for them.

Plenty of upside potential, but also chance for Delap to have a decent buyout clause further down the line.

That he may not be guaranteed game time at a larger club that has more cover with regards to next season.

Maybe, however I think he's demonstrated that he can perform to a consistently high standard as a regular starter at this level. 12 goals is a good return in any premier league side, it's exceptional in a team that is relegated.

Fair enough and I guess time will tell. Delap has obviously had a phenomenal season in a team that has struggled.

It's such a shame we can't have him for another season, but such is football. On the other hand I'm excited to see Hirst next season, I just pray he stays fit.

Hirst is great but his fitness is a major issue, sadly. I am just so curious who we go for alongside him next season, I don't have a clue in that regard!

It depends who he signs for. If he goes to Man Utd or Chelsea he may well be second choice to a senior striker. I think his best move would be to a club like Brighton, Bournemouth or Forest (if they were to bid for him of course) who likely wont be relegation certainties but he'll have a good chance to play regularly. With Forest there's a good chance he'll get some Champions League experience.

How's Al-Hamadi getting on now at Stoke? I wouldn't be surprised to see him back in the fold, but we definitely need at least one more of decent quality, which is probably tough even in the Championship.

Personally, I'd take him over Hojund or Jackson at the moment based on their respective performances in the Prem.

I’d take Norwood over Hojlund. How is that guy getting in a PL team? I suppose to be fair to him, it’s likely that it’s Man U making him look bad. Scott McTominay is apparently flying at Napoli.

I thought McTominay was good for United to be fair. Binning him off for relative peanuts and spending the sort of money they did on Fred, Casemiro, Antony etc absolutely boggles the mind.

As for Hojland I have no idea how he’s a £70m player either.

One of the most spectacularly mismanaged clubs in recent seasons, it’s not like they’ve not spent money, they’ve just spent it terribly.
