Women vs Cheltenham 13:35 - Apr 18 with 1918 views | vaiti | Can someone pull strings urgently for the match to be moved from Martello Ground to Portman Road? I just went to buy a ticket and it is already sold out. So many more will be disappointed too. There were over 10000 at this year's match at Portman Road. How many more will there be if Portman Road hosts the last match of the season for the league winners?

Really? The game is on 27th April a day after the men are at Newcastle.

Ah, got that wrong didn't I! Though I kinda knew that as thought of going but staying up in Newcastle for the weekend so logistically doesn't work. In any event, way too short notice to get it to work, given the amount of setting up, staffing etc required

If we drew an FA Cup game [up until recently] we would get set up to host a replay in 7-8 days…..so logistically it would certainly be possible to turn this round and set it up if the will was there to do it

Women vs Cheltenham on 19:41 - Apr 18 with 1394 views | NeedhamChris | Do Felixstowe not deserve it? They've been great hosts and I think it's quite fitting they'll seal the deal there. Moving it so some glory hunters (however well intentioned) would leave a slightly sour taste.

Thats' the men though and would be a near sell out. Womens team tickets are less and would get less of an attendance so would probably lose money if opening up the stadium

See what you can do Phil. It would be so good for the team, and the town. It is indeed short notice, but it's worth a try. The fans are very well behaved, so crowd control will be easy. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

That's a different issue and some F A Cup replays would have had very low attendances with much reduced ticket prices.

Feliixstowe have indeed been really good hosts, and the atmosphere at Martello Ground is great. However, the tickets have sold out way before the match takes place. On the two occasions when matches have been at Portman Road, there have been lots of young girls attending. They aren't really glory hunters. They are girls who have persuaded their parents to take them to these "special" matches. I don't have the stats, but understand it to have been an incentive fot lots to take up the sport.

I think the staff and volunteers at Felixstowe do deserve it, and good to end the lower league journey there - but will be plenty of semi regular fans who aren’t in the 2k[?] sold who will miss out I went to get tickets and it sold out with them in my basket; I’ve probably done 10 games over last 2-3 years often with the rest of my family, we sponsor a player as part of the podcast I’m on so whilst I wouldn’t say I’m a glory hunter but will be missing out….my own fault but sure won’t be the only one in this position

Women vs Cheltenham on 20:50 - Apr 18 with 1145 views | Perublue | Splendid opportunity to grow the game, club and community even further… Portman road even if it’s a financial loss in the short term which I doubt it would be is the way to go for this match …. Phil you have the power … Phil “the power” Ham….if you build it they will come. Speed is of the essence though

Yeah you're definitely not in the glory hunter camp. Sorry you didn't get one. I thought about trying to buy one as imagine it'll be a real celebration, but decided against it as felt a little off jumping on the bandwagon. I will give it a go next season. Agree on the volunteers and staff though, heard anything about whether it'll be PR next season in the championship?

Women vs Cheltenham on 07:26 - Apr 19 with 716 views | slade1 | Despite the attendance being bigger at Portman Road, I believe the match should stay at Felixstowe. They have been excellent hosts for the team over the years and the Ladies look at this ground as 'home' It would be disrespectful to all at Felixstowe who have hosted our games, done a great job and have been on this 'journey' with the team. This is as big a day for all behind the scenes at Felixstowe as it is for Ipswich.

That is a good idea. It would be good preparation for next season as all Women's Championship matches are shown live on YouTube.
