Trip to London 10:14 - May 10 with 781 viewsfabian_illness

When the youngest boy finished his exams, I promised the family a trip to London.
I've managed to get away with it up until now, but tomorrow is the day I run out of excuses.
Can anyone recommend a few things to keep them occupied for a few hours. I'm lost, I've always avoided it unless really necessary.
They are all sitting back, expecting a really nice day out and me to sort everything.

Fcking hell Fabian, this is poor planning.

Have a look at joey joe juniors thread for a tour of old school haunts.

Trailing vapour since 1999.

You have museums a plenty - providing they are open on Sundays which I presume they are - Science, Natural History etc etc.

Personally I would go to London Transport Museum in Covent Garden and the London Aquarium - but each to their own.

“Hello, I'm your MP. Actually I'm not. I'm your candidate. Gosh.” Boris Johnson canvassing in Henley, 2005.

Weather dependant but for a low / zero cost couple of hours it’s worth tubing to London Bridge, go through Hays Glleria and then walk the south bank of the Thames past HMS Belfast and the lord mayors office to Tower Bridge, by tower bridge there are little cobble streets to explore. You can then cross back over the Thames on Tower bridge to the Tower of London and head into town from there. Good couple of hours and if you have a thirst pop in to the Horniman pub at Hays Galleria which granted not been for a few years but always used to be worth a visit.

You can go up the walkie talkie for free and it has amazing views. Book tickets here (though you can queue on the day with no tickets).

Depends on what they’re in to really.

F1 Arcade is good although not cheap. You can follow it up with a visit to St Paul’s around the corner if you want a mix of fun and culture. Great views from the top of St Paul’s.

If they’re foodies, borough market is busy but a nice place to grab some food followed by a walk across tower bridge.

As others have said, plenty of museum options if that’s going to hold their attention

If he's into art you can't go wrong with Tate Modern and most of it is free.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

A trip on a Thames Clipper is a good way to see plenty of London landmarks.

Weirdly, I was at the F1 Arcade last weekend for my Nephew's birthday.

Can confirm great fun but not cheap as you say. Only issue was, he was turning 12 and most of the crowd there was blokes on a stag do, so there was the occasional bit of fruity language!
