Yeah, it was George’s bar and then the Victoria (I think),

I’m sure many others are long shut that I remember on the outskirts as well.

George’s Bar. Fantastic couple of years in there. Do you remember when Pompey came there to play?

I can remember a bit of blood spilled outside the Drum and Monkey in 2003. I think it was a bit of an ITFC ambush that got more resistance than expected?

We are truly blessed to have lived to witness the greatness of Sticky Mockwell with our own eyes. He scored some brilliant goals throughout his career, his peach at Bury always stuck out

Yeah, it was a proper estate pub feel but kind of in town.

In 1998 we were good and playing some nice stuff. David Johnson, Scowie and the emergence of Dyer, I can’t remember if Charlton were better but that was a disappointing playoffs. Probably a really strong division that year.

Who did Bolton lose to in 1999 at Wembley?

Charlton were a good side that year, they totally nullified us at PR, being just the right side of the line on cynical and breaking the game up. Seem to remember it was a bit like last Saturday in that regard.

Second leg wasn't televised so only ever saw the goal from that, don't remember us creating loads in that. It certainly wasn't as disappointing as the year before.

Watford beat Bolton in 1999.

I went in the wrong direction then. I headed for Plough, Cock and Pye, McGintys and the like. In the end, I gave up and went home which the Friday morning at work version of me, appreciated.

That pub is long gone now, though the building remains.

What is the building?

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

Wasn't that the year the final was something daft like 5-5 charlton vs sunderland, charlton win on pens? Mendonca and Phillips score hattricks?

Think that game was replayed on Sky the other day, loved the sunderland shirt that year with a random local brewer as sponsor and their long haired keeper
